Here's the thing. Great feature. Needs to: 1) Give user control of the level of effect (now everyone looks too eyes wide open), 50,75,100% might be a good start, or dial it up. 2) Blink control would be nice. 3) needs to look more organic (maybe a look away for an instant once in a while) Just reaching here All and all, I am thrilled with the possibilities.

I don't have it yet either but I'm so excited about this feature!!! Having to pause during recording to read notes and memorize lines will soon be something from the past. AI makes things move so fast, I'm so grateful to be a witness. Descript will literally take care of all the video distribution for my personal brand (shooting, editing, caption, studio sound, extract short clips from long form video, etc.), look out!

For those saying its not in their menu, you have to restart descript and install the newest version and you'll see it

I was excited to try it but unfortunately, I wasn't happy with the results, so switched back to the original. These were my problems: 1) Left eye would sometimes be blueish and right eye stays brown (both my eyes are brown btw). 2) The eye contact filter makes me look creepy and emotionless (uncanny valley is real!) 3) It would jump between my actual pupils and the AI-generated pupils which made it obvious that I was using a filter. I understand this feature is still in beta, I just wanted to share my experience so that the Descript AI team can try to fix these issues. P.S. It's still the best eye contact filter I've tried.

I have tried several times to get this effect to work. I have followed ALL of the instructions. When I toggle the effect on and off after the video has been processed, I can see that my eyes have shifted slightly in the video. Still, I don't appear to be looking directly into the camera. Maybe I am expecting too much from seeing the examples you've given, but my results were not comparable.

I've tried this on two videos. They are just normal talking head videos like yours and both times, it gave me a "Error processing File". Are there system requirements for this? I am on an old PC Rhyzen 3 1200 with only 8gb of Ram. It runs descript, but that's about it. Any tips as I'd love to try the features.

I can't seem to get it to work. It's in my menu, but the first time I tried to apply it, it just kept buffering without adding the effect (over an hour, the circle kept going round next to eye contact). The second time, the buffering icon stopped/finished, but nothing happened to my clip. Simple talking head video.

These videos are beautiful but I've had nothing but issues with the features they tout on youtube. green screen won't apply, overdub is horrible, amongts other things. I really think they're still in Beta. I'm wishing them the best because it seems it will eventually be really great software but not yet from what I see.

Me too! I got the Captions app solely for this feature but it literally takes forever to render a video that is just over 1 minute long and sometimes it just shows an error message. Hope they improve this feature in both the Captions app and Descript because it is super useful.

Yes. I did CMD + A to select all on my script. Then went to Effects in the right panel > Click the "+" button and then the Eye Contact Button was there.
