Some of these very pretty good! But I kinda liked the original Yeezy and "Impossible is nothing"

I feel this way to, sometimes breaking the rules is ok because it creates some new perspective looking at things. All the designs principles are not like the law of physics.
@dobryj4elovek3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I thought the same. I actually liked shadows which gave it more of a 3dish feel on yeezy, and impossible is also more appealing to me before redesign, maybe mostly because typography is lighter, and the athlete's picture is just better. But orange adidas redesign is absolutely stunning
@aesir41343 жыл бұрын
I agree with you with the Yeezy, but I think the "Impossible is nothing" redesign of typo is better. It's just that the model is kinda boring, which makes the original better.
@kitanimation003 жыл бұрын
agree, the original Yeezy brings more emotions, that is important point.
@krutis73073 жыл бұрын
I really love the way you logically study the imagery structure and then organize your content accordingly. Loved all modified designs... especially the first one was a stark change...
@vitormd11383 жыл бұрын
Honestly the original YEEZY looked fine and the "Impossible is Nothing" all i would change would be to bring the "nothing" text closer to the "IS" word and it would be perfect. The remake design looks to "default" in a way and it doesn't give off the energy the original one does, as you mentioned. Either way, nice video!
@hw77213 жыл бұрын
I totally agree:)
@safavid3 жыл бұрын
I like both ... on his however, it looks like he's repeating the word "YEEZY" in the horizontal behind the shoe, in which case it's misspelled... it's starts with "ZEY" which messes with my eyes.
@tavannia73 жыл бұрын
The main issue I see with the original "impossible is nothing" is the crazy amount of emphasis put on the 'is' which doesn't really say anything. Curious how much better the redesign would look with the original image though, as that image is much more dynamic and fills the space better.

On the “Día de los Muertos” design, it would make more sense to make emphasis on “a los que se van antes” referring to the ones that have left this world before us, los “muertos”.
@fabianalata41553 жыл бұрын
yes, it kinda lost the message you want to say...

He did a great job!

Hey it’s not the designers fault. It’s the client asking for the revision. Example using basketball as bullet points
@sayanbiswas73643 жыл бұрын
If the designer is good, they will have the balls to call the client out on a blatantly bad design decision. You have to basically politely tell the client that - you are not a designer, and this looks horrible.
@123arskas3 жыл бұрын
@@sayanbiswas7364 If a designer says that to a client then surly he's gonna get fired. Majority of clients love to destroy the design and want you to make something that only they personally like. They don't care if its a bad design or not. Their small spectrum of design in their mind tells them that its perfect for them and they go with it by rejecting top-notch designs.

Every designer has their own style and normally people who pay look for the one they like the most and people who wants those balls as a bullet point waste your time, they don't know what they want and on top of that they will ask for a discount! Even if you need money you must have character to say "sorry but its not going to be possible since my work represents me and that doesn't meet the features for a professional design" you're a professional not a puppet

One of the reasons I love to watch your videos is because as a drop-out and self taught designer, I often struggle putting these practices into words. For example, I've been using hierarchy for years but never even knew it was called hierarchy. I do things based off my own judgment of how it should look. Great content and defiantly expanding my knowledge. It is very encouraging to see that im doing some of the same things I see in your videos, even if I do not necessarily know the proper terms/explanations. Great work my friend, as always!
@simplicitydevolved48053 жыл бұрын
Honestly, for the 2nd one of the Yeezy's, I actually thought the before looked better. Here's why: You washed out the true colors of that model shoe by attempting to make an angelic/halo look to it. When you're selling to customers, it's really important to maintain the actual look of the product. It allows a potential customer to imagine how the product will look with their style or mentally combine it with other styles of clothing they have at home when you display the true-to-life colors of the product. Consider the general public perception, will EVERYONE understand there's a halo/effect there and that the shoe really is a deeper, richer, gray in life? And because the shadow was also removed beneath it, you lost a sense of dimension and depth to the ad. When you look at the before and after side by side, from far away, the after LOOKS like it has more negative space because of the loss of drop shadow and the white wash of the colors. The text in the background was too light to give an illusion of a more filled in space.

"No le pierdas el paso a los que se van antes" Means "Don't lose track of those who leave us early" It's a poster for the "Day of the Death" of "Día de los muertos" in México. Putting it like that means something like "Don't lose track..." The thing with the "no le pierdas" poster is that... The message has it's own context in culture. An the context of that part alone sound like an economic offer, more in the realm of "Don't lose this offer" and you can see how the message loses it's deeper (yet loose and flimsy) relationship with the Day of the death. The poster highlights the orange because orange is a strong color for that specific festivity. And that festivity focuses on staying in touch with our, long gone, relatives. I don't say you didn't do an amazing you, cuz you did. I'm just saying that it's a bit more complex than that.

The last one. I have done posters similar to this but made the text as an outline only covering the subject otherwise you lose the word, as has happened here, you've lost three letters and the 0.5 of a second word recognition. The others work well.

Just gorgeous. Thank you for sharing your work with us!

The Rise Above rework really brings out the theme much better. And the orange poster certainly breathes better, the three stripes at the bottom are so satisfying, like the heel tab of a shoe. However, I feel like the Impossible rework completely deflates the thematic cohesion of the original. In the original, the athlete isn't simply "breaking through", he's impossibly positioned, interweaving amongst the letter to make his shot. The composition is indeed a bit unpleasing, but this comes from the way the athlete metaphorically/visually is threading a needle amongst the letters, which evokes crampedness and discomfort, but this discomfort too is thematically cohesive because doing the seemingly impossible usually is uncomfortable. In this case the "unpleasantness" of the design serves to hold the viewer's attention and provoke thought much more than it does to detract from the ad. In the rework, especially with the low light of the athlete and logo, I'd probably scan over it without even stopping if I were to see it in the real world... it's just kind of plain and doesn't evoke what the words say.

Very commercial brands like these don't want you to leave thinking about the brand, they want you to leave with a vivid picture of a product or activity in which to use the product. That's why the compromised on some formal design concepts to keep that focus.

In the first case I think the problem came from the fact that the designer was desperately trying to create flow using both hands, then the knee and foot at the expense of alignment and proximity. I kind of love how you corrected it and managed to maintain some flow between the top text and top hand. I recommend you do a video about how the different principles of design ought to interact with one another in a non competing manner
