JHS has been given the wonderful opportunity of spearheading a project to create gear in celebration of the new documentary coming up. It's been a lot of fun working on this. Join the JHS Crew as we take a look at the gear. We've got guitars, amps, pedals, mocktails, and a lot of sand.

Purchased the California girls mostly because 300 bucks is a lot less than a $4,000 Rick. Can’t wait to try weird stuff on it. Trumpet, mandolin, etc. looking for more suggestions. Just an aside but I got a call from some service rep at Sweetwater today to kinda see what I was all about. Had a nice conversation but it still triggered my ‘what’s this dude after’ reflex. Thanks, Josh for shepherding this project to fruition. Looks like it was a lot of hard work for all the companies involved.

I think Sweetwater calls after every purchase. It weirded me out a bit the first time, but now I just expect it. They are just being nice and helpful, and if you just tell them “yup, I got this one thing but I don’t really need anything else right now” they move on and leave you alone. I’ve never gotten a hard sales pitch from them. I’ve learned to appreciate the effort now, but if you’re not used to it, it throws you off balance at first because it’s such a different vibe from other companies.

Josh I am loving your Beach Boys content and the new gear. But everytime you mention 12 String guitar I need to tell you about The Mission. They are a british band that have been going since 1985/86. They have just toured the states and are still going today. Wayne Hussey their lead singer/guitarist has a signature Schecter 12 string and I think you would love them. Plus their lead guitarist Simon Hinkler is a massive eBow user. I think You need some Goth in your record collection The Mission, The Sisters Of Mercy, Play Dead, Rosetta Stone, Fields of The Nephilim and The Eden House.

@jhspedals it is! Maybe you can educate me if there is a fuzz pedal that cleans up like a fuzz face with the guitar volume knob down, and like a tone bender with the guitar volume knob up? The fuzz face only sounds like chaos on the bridge pickup, where I prefer the other 2 positions (neck, neck and bridge) on my jazzmaster when it's clean (85 to 90% of the time)

JHS pedals, oh, the overpriced, overhyped noisemakers of the guitar world. You'd think with their sky-high price tags, they'd churn out golden tones worthy of angels weeping. But alas, all they offer is an underwhelming cacophony that's more akin to a swarm of angry bees than a symphony. It's like paying for a gourmet meal and getting served a microwaved TV dinner. Their marketing team must be working overtime because they've somehow convinced a legion of unsuspecting guitarists that their pedals are the holy grail of tone. But peel back the shiny facade, and you'll find circuits recycled from the bargain bin, wrapped in a flashy enclosure that screams "style over substance." It's the musical equivalent of putting lipstick on a pig and trying to pass it off as a supermodel. JHS pedals are the embodiment of disappointment, promising the moon and delivering a mere flicker of starlight. You'd be better off throwing your hard-earned cash into a bonfire for warmth because at least then you'd get some fleeting satisfaction from the flames. So next time you're tempted by their flashy ads and inflated promises, remember: JHS pedals are just a pricey pitfall on the road to sonic satisfaction. -Yall wanted a ChatGPT roast, so here you go lol
@stahliwood8755

Jesus Christ, what did JHS do to you. Their pedals are priced competitively. Josh made the 3 series and it's a great product. I bought the fuzz,delay and chorus for 40 each used

And here’s a ChatGPT retort: ”Hey there! I get where you're coming from, but let's take a closer look at what JHS Pedals actually offers. First off, calling JHS 'overpriced' and 'overhyped' might be a bit harsh. Their products are crafted with a lot of care and innovation. Joshua Heath Scott started by fixing and modding pedals himself, which shows his genuine passion for quality and sound. This hands-on experience translates into the unique and finely tuned pedals JHS produces today. Let's talk about their sound. Far from being a 'swarm of angry bees,' pedals like the Morning Glory and the Panther Delay have received praise for their clarity and versatility. The Morning Glory, for instance, is known for its transparent overdrive, loved by pros and hobbyists alike for how it enhances tone without muddying it. The Panther Delay offers a rich, analog delay experience that many guitarists swear by. These aren't just pedals picked from a bargain bin; they're thoughtfully designed tools for musicians. And about the marketing - yes, JHS has a strong presence, but it's not all smoke and mirrors. Their products speak for themselves. Take their recent releases, like the Punchline Bass Station and the Good Vibrations chorus/vibrato. These aren't just rehashes of old circuits but innovative combinations and modern takes on classic sounds. The Punchline brings together compressor, overdrive, amp sim, and EQ tailored for bass in one pedal, while the Good Vibrations uses a bulb-driven circuit to recreate that warm, analog modulation that many players crave. Lastly, your point about the price - quality does come at a cost, but many find JHS pedals worth every penny because of the meticulous craftsmanship and reliable performance they offer. So, while they might seem like a 'pricey pitfall' at first glance, for many players, they are essential tools that deliver on their promises and help them achieve their best sound. In the end, it's all about personal preference. Some might love the tones JHS pedals provide, while others might prefer something different. But dismissing them as mere 'noisemakers' doesn't quite do justice to the innovation and quality they bring to the table. Cheers!”
