They’re gorgeous. I just wanted to mention to you that I use white glue instead of the liquid latex. It comes off perfectly and the resin drips stick to it nicely. It’s also cheaper than the latex.

Hi, what you do is great ! If I make/create a plate that I don't like, can I modify it ?How can I modify a resin plate ? = put it in the microwave to melt it? In hot water? Or with a paint stripper? Thank you so much.

I have a 13 1/2” plate that I need to repair and without thinking I put it in a dish of rather hot tap water with some other pieces that I was going to wash... I took the plate out last and to my surprise it was very pliable… I could have reshaped it into a bowl, but since that was not my intent, I chose not too. When I took it out of the water, I placed on a towel to dry, then placed it on a flat cutting board to shape in back into the plate. It took a little while to cool off... once it had it was good as new. Blessings

Hello my Dear, thank you for your lovely videos and helpful explanation. ❤️ When I pour my Resin (ultracast xt medium viscosity with pigment powder) it does not really flow to the middle of the mold and I do not get the effect I want. Do you recommend to add some drops of 99% alcohol? And is it not dangerous especially when I use the torch? Thanks in advance 🙏
@MoonkusserArt
@MoonkusserArt 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Saida. I think your resin is fine. Definitely try adding several drops of 99% alcohol. I put the drops in when mixing mica into the resin and will even add a couple more right before I pour it into the mold. I my opinion (and from my results), it does assist in getting the effect. Thank you for your kind words. 😊

This tutorial is so informative!! Thank you for showing your work from beginning to end. 1. Regarding the resin flood coat, do you wait for it to thicken or pour immediately? 2. My resin on the sides kinda pooled at the bottom edge and dried. Possibly because I waited 10 minutes after pouring. Thank you so much for your time. These are beautiful!
@MoonkusserArt
@MoonkusserArt 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Robbie. 1. The Counter Culture DIY Artist Resin is very thick. I begin right away once resin is mixed. By the time I am done applying the resin to the sides it has been 5 to 10 minutes. 2. I get the same at my bottom edge that you describe but it is usually minimal. I do examine for large drips and use my popstick to remove. You can use your popstick to sort of coax that to be thinner if you want. Appreciate your support on my artistic journey! 😊

Hello lovely, I’m extremely new to all of this. But your work is absolutely beautiful 🥰 sorry if this is a stupid question, do you use alcohol when doing canvas pieces or just in coasters?
@MoonkusserArt
@MoonkusserArt 2 жыл бұрын
Beginners can ask no stupid questions first of all. You should ask! 😁 I do use alcohol on canvas pieces for effects as well. I did on this video (it's not canvas but it is done the same) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXfOYnRpa96Ca5I It is important to remember to not use the torch after using alcohol because of it being highly flammable! Be careful.

They turned out beautiful hun and a must try so I have a few questions. Does the little bit of alcohol add to the great effects you got or it makes no difference? Do you find it easy to use the liquid latex and would you use it on larger pieces? I love the tip on brush stroking into the paint and not away, thats makes so much more scene when you see it done. Thank you so much for the shout out hun , trust me you inspire me with all you wonderful tutorials and amazing creations. 💕

Thank you Deborah. I believe adding the alcohol does help with the effects. The liquid latex is easy to apply. I don't know that using it on large pieces is worth it unless you would only apply at edges. Glad you liked my pearl of wisdom. And as always, thank you for being such a great friend 💕

Why do u put a spray of alcohol in to make a paste. Watched thousands of videos an your the only 1 I’ve came across that does this ? Please explain why ?
@MoonkusserArt
@MoonkusserArt 2 жыл бұрын
The alcohol will dissolve the mica powder uniformly to make a paste or liquid state depending on how much alcohol you use. This helps to avoid clumps of powder and makes it easier to stir into the resin. It also changes the chemistry slightly providing some different effects.

Hi there, these are stunning! I'm looking to make some myself, and I'm wondering - when you're using the mica powders, are you adding some type of alcohol to each of them before adding the resin? Is there a reason to add the alcohol, and if so, what type would I need to use? Thank you :)
@MoonkusserArt
@MoonkusserArt 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much Ashley 🤗 In this video I added several drops of 99% Isopropyl Alcohol to the Black Diamond mica powders in the cups to just moisten it and then added the resin. The alcohol will assist in the micas mixing well into the resin because the Counter Culture DIY Artist Resin is very thick right from the start. You can use 91% also, the 99% is difficult to get right now because of the Covid-19.
