OMG!!! I just saw the box of "Gobstoppers"!!! They still make them over there?!
@jeannie2917 жыл бұрын
Haha! YES!! Some stores don't sell them but they're still around. I need something to suck on when I torch - - and keep my throat moist (it tends to dry out in the heat, even if I drink a LOT of water while torching). And I love my Gobbies!!! :)

@@jeannie291 I have. Question do you have. Video on begginer guide and what kinda tools and supplies needed without breaking the bank .

I have 2 videos that show what are some basic tools and what you will need to start up a glass studio. Part 1 and 2 - Starting your own glass studio (or similar title, I don't remember for sure)

Awesome! Another use for my salvaged copper electrical wire and recycled liquor bottle glass.

BTW- Have you done a video on making frit? I'm a newby, and bought a cheap mortar and pestle to grind down some of my larger shocked glass pieces, and it's not working like I thought it would!

And, can I ask, how you're placing these in the kiln? Are you setting them on a shelf, somehow?
@jeannie2917 жыл бұрын
Yes, the whole thing goes right into the kiln - - that's why I mentioned that the wire can take the heat and that it's annealing temperature is 1900-2100 degrees. I should do a video on making frit. The way I do it, tho, is pretty slow-going - - heating glass then quenching in cold water. But I will - thanks!

How do you use the head pins in jewellery making after they're done?
@mariannegonin934 жыл бұрын
Hi Jeannie, thank you for your great videos ! I make myself headpins too and have tried different metal wire. I have noticed how soft the wire comes out of the kiln after annealing. The one I use the most is kanthal wire but it becomes quite soft too and I always worry about the toughness of my pendant once mounted. How about the wire that you use on this video ? Does it remain stiff and strong enough ? Thank you very much.

Hi Jeannie, I may have missed what glass you're working with, is it the soft COE 104 glass or a harder one like COE33?
@jeannie2916 жыл бұрын
These are done in 104 COE - - which most of my videos are, altho I do have a few that are boro videos (and I think those are noted).

Hi Jeannie. Will you please share what your ventilation system is to protect your lungs?

I believe I show that in my Starting your own glass studio video.
