I will have to try your method of making grape juice. The steamer method is to strong and concentrated for me. I have to water it down to drink more. I just finished making about 5 gallons of apple cider today for the first time ever. Pressure canned the cider to last as I don't have any freezer space. Keep up the good work and videos. What is common to you is lost traditions and new information to most people watching. Thank you for sharing your experiences. God Bless.

This brought back so many wonderful memories. Although my parents migrated from WV to Ohio for work in the 60’s. They kept growing a garden and keeping a few pigs in rural Ohio. We had many grape arbors that Momma and us kids picked. Every year momma would make many quarts of grape juice and grape jelly. So good!

Hey Justin, ya'll can use a deep stock pot with a rack from either type of canner to get your one or two inches of water over the jar. If ya got a deep pressure canner, that will work too as a water bath canner. Put the lid on and don't lock it or use the weight. Then ya got a canner that's a two fer.

I left several wine grape vines back in Kentucky when I moved here. Going back to get them in February. I’ll also get a few table/juice vines going too. (Keeping them separated, of course.) It’ll take them a year or two to be ready for harvesting, but worth the wait. Wish I had a tractor and auger for the trellis posts. I want their roots down deep. Thanks for this video my friend. I got this homestead bug years ago from growing grapes. Now my prayers are being answered! Thank you, Jesus! All glory to The Lord for good friends and healthy homesteads.

“Like it if you liked this video and you can like it if you didn’t like it too!” You crack me up!! 🤣 There’s a lot to like in this video. I liked the method you used to make your juice, it came out such a pretty color and I know it has to be good stuff! I also really liked your star punched colander, the old Atlas jar, and that rocking chair on your porch. They don’t make any of that stuff the same way anymore and it’s nice to see those things still being used and appreciated. All those cushaw, that basket of corn and all those canned tomatoes on the counter shows how busy you have been and I liked seeing you have had such a good harvest. Thanks for finding time to make and share this video with us, I really did like watching it and look forward to the next one!

That juice looks delicious. Grape is my favourite but I've never had it homemade. Just the welch brand. I'm wondering if I can still find the concord at the market. Seems to me they are out in the fall so I might be in luck. I watched you do tomato seeds and the salsa on another video. I do not have either of the tools you have for processing those tomatoes. So i blanched them to remove the skins, sliced in half like you did, and poked my finger in every one of them to remove the seeds. Oh and I had 40 lbs of them! I will be investing in the Roma separator thingy for next year! Cooking it down now and your tomato soup is going in to jars! Thank you for your entertaining and helpful videos! Blessings to you and the girls!

Thank you Justin for this recipe. I do the steam version and it requires a lot more grapes. I would like to try your version and I was wondering how long can we keep this juice because with sugar it can ferment. Did you try with other fruits, I guess we can do it with almost all fruits
@jasonpeters32283 жыл бұрын
Just pour the hot steamed juice directly into hot jars (dishwasher cycle works or boil), put a hot boiled lid on it and set it on the counter. The jars will seal when they cool. No need to even water bath unless it didn't seal the first time.
@BADEB583 жыл бұрын
@@jasonpeters3228 Thank you Jason. In fact it's exactly what i do but I want to try Justin's version and i wonder how long we can keep the juice without fermenting. I put my juice in bottles and i do not add suggar so if i do Justin's version with suggar i'm affraid the bottles could explosed because fermentation.
