Making home made plywood

To make 3-ply plywood really strong, you should make the inner ply as thick as the 2 outer plies together. So e.g. 3/6/3.

I've done 3 ply with less tools than you (no thickness sander nor nice press). They tend to wrap. I've think It's mainly because of inconstancy in my wood layers thickness and/or glue layer thickness. But I'm getting better every time I try! :) I know industrial plywood manufacturer used heated press, I'm not sure to understand why.
