Making Inexpensive Trellises

Making inexpensive trellises for your climbing flowers is probably easier than you think. Dave used a fence slat as one idea and he explains how he did it in this video. Our clematis is loving it and this good-sized trellis will nicely display it throughout the summer.

I just made one from buddleja sticks I had from pruning, bamboo sticks and plant sticks all tied together with zipties. Cost me 2 euros for the zipties :-) I like the wooden one you made, good idea!

The first one, I think is a Nelly Moser clematis...or at least, if it's not, but that one is close and commonly available so you can get something that looks similar. The second one might be Jackmanii but the number of petals are different so more than likely, it's not, but there are many purple varieties that you can pick from.
