That description of coming off the mat in your 40s and feeling like you're dying, cracked me up. So familiar 😂. Great interview. Thank you both for your KZbin channels.

Of the many great conversations this one is perhaps my favorite because his humility comes through

Yes! I'm so hyped for this one. The Yonezuka family are absolute monsters on the mat.

What a great conversation! In future casts, would you consider analyzing USA Judo's withdrawal from the American Judo Alliance, and whether you think it's good or bad for judo in the US?

about those unusual tournaments at cranford jkc, one of those was my first tournament, and it was very cool. I was probably about 6’1” then, maybe 185-195 pounds, white belt. I got hit with a drop seoinage from a green belt who was much smaller than me, and tripped by a yellow belt who was only a little smaller, but much older. it was really fun.

I remember those old Cranford dojo competitions where you added up points based on belt rank, age, weight etc. As an older brown belt I ended up facing some green belts but younger, tougher guys. They still mauled me, LOL! Nice memories :)
