1:04 I love how it's not just "Snare" but "LOUD Snare" Lol The levels of the drums can effect the groove just as much as the rhythm can. That's really an over looked aspect of making a groove. That's essentially what accent notes are all about (dynamics). Mixing can be and is just as musical as the notes, rhythms and sounds in the composition.

I just remade this beat on fl studio and a lot of the sounds are actually on the stock pack which is shocking to me but I actually found the woodblock and it’s called “808 conga” and I just lowered the pitch to it and put reverb on it. I also used flex as the dream piano by adding reverb to that. Walton basically put reverb on everything to give it that dreamy feel. I love this song so much tho bc I have listened to it since 7th grade all the way up to now (sophomore year). So glad I could remake this bc I never thought I would be able to.

Man, just trying to figure out at what speed you had the Hotline Bling sample? I cut off the percussion from the original "Why Can't We Live Together". The sample is now 12sec at 105BPM. Now what to get the same speed and pitch as yours in this video? Have been speed-flexing this sample a lot but can't seem to fix it.
