In Florida you don't ever need to wonder or question if there is a gator in or near any body of water even if there are no signs. If there is water ALWAYS assume there are gators and furthermore NEVER go near them. They can climb fences and run much faster than you. The whole run in a zig zag patter to escape a gator is also NOT true. Just don't go near them. You leave them be and they will leave you be.

Amy hi. I had mentioned once before if you will steam the eggs they will slide out of the shell! Do not put the eggs in cold water because that causes constriction. When you hit the egg on the counter top crack it open on the bigger end. There is an air pocket there. Let warm water under the shell and there you go. I have been doing this method for years now and it works. Have a great weekend!

Thank you. I don't have a steamer . But i used to use my insta pot and it worked most of the time

Also, when bagging popcorn don't use a ziploc bag. The heat from the popcorn creates moisture which is then trapped in the plastic bag and your popcorn will taste old and stale when you open it again. Put it in a paper bag and when you re-open it will still taste fresh.

I was born and raised in Florida. Sign or no sign please be careful around any body of water . Where there is a body of water , there is probably an alligator.

I have always been told by people who live in Florida that you never go near the water (sign or not) alligators are everywhere. We have been going to Florida since I was a kid and that was one thing that all the locals told us. I would definitely recommend you tell the kids the same. It’s definitely nothing to play around with or wonder about. They are very dangerous! Maybe have them study them in school. Now I love the ocean with the sugar white sand. It’s my favorite!

What works for me with boiled eggs is, boil for 10 minutes, put it under cold water from tap, pick each egg up and crack it thoroughly by tapping and rolling on counter and put it back in the cold water for a minute or so and start peeling, make sure that you get under the thin layer under the eggshell and peel shell and membrane together. The egg is not icecold when done.

I have a gas range and I put my cold fridge eggs in the pot of cool tap water. Once the water comes to a boil I set a timer for 10 minutes. After the 10 minutes I immediately dump the hot water and add cold water into the pot, refreshing it two or three times until the eggs are cool. 98% of the time this works for perfectly hard boiled eggs that don’t fall apart when pealed. 🤷‍♀️ 😊

I have tried something new to peel eggs! Use a quart jar and fill it half full of ice water. Place two or three eggs in the jar at a time and put the lid on. Shake the jar vigorously for a few seconds. Open the jar and remove the eggs. MOST of the time they will have peeled with the shaking. It forces the water under the shells. I really like this method. Give it a try and tell us what you think.

A little tip on the popcorn, if you melt the coconut oil and mix your popcorn kernels in it along with the flavacol before you pop it the flavacol will coat the popcorn as it pops and it will have the lovely yellow “movie popcorn” color and the flavor will be evenly distributed all over. As for the eggs, I know everyone is giving all kinds of advice. But as someone who struggled with hard boiled eggs for years the one method I found that works for me is doing them in my InstanPot. I put the in my basket insert with a cup of water in the bottom, hit the “egg” button which is 4 minutes (I believe). As soon as they’re done I pressure release, take them out and put them in an ice bath. If you make the ice bath in a bowl (I actually use a 2 qt pitcher) it doesn’t take as much ice as trying to cool down a whole pan of water. I started using this method a couple of years ago and it’s worked great every time.

From a girl born and raised in Florida you just have to let the pasta sit longer in the colander to cool Stir It Up a few times to let the steam release then run your water over it even though it's not cold and always better when it's made the day before whatever event LOL so I can sit in the fridge❤

Good morning, you where talking about how your water is never cold. If you all can check I am pretty sure you pipes run through your attic. We had the same issue in another house and my husband was able to go up in attic and open the vents more and put up some screens that keeps out bugs and animals. That did help but because we were renting we could not do much more. The house we live in now is up off the ground with a crawl space so pipes run under the house and they are protected for heat. I hope this will help you.

Amy, try this for your boiled eggs. Put your eggs in your pan, run cool water over them all and put on stove. Bring them to a boil, boil for 5-6 minutes. Turn off burner, put lid on eggs and let them sit until cool in the. water. I do my eggs like this and you will see the difference! Drain off water when you are ready to use. Have a good weekend! Amy, Try doing hard boiled eggs like I do. Bring to a boil, turn burner off. Put the lid on. Set timer for 11 minutes. Crack the shells with the end of a butter knife.Put in ice water to cool. Cracking the shell helps break the membrane that holds the shell on. Works every time.

Hi Amy, if you put the eggs in an ice bath and then take them one at a time and put them in a ball jar, screw the lid on and shake them up. The shells will peel off so easily. 🥚 🫙

I will only boil eggs in my instant pot. Never have to worry about the shell sticking. If I have to boil. I put eggs in cold water. Bring to a boil. When at a boil I put lid on and turn off the burner. I then let them sit there for 10-12 minutes. After the 10-12 min I immediately move them to an ice bath to cool then peel immediately. 90% of the time the shells come off without any problem. The only sure outcome at 100% is the instant pot. That Library is amazing!!

For your eggs, let your water come to a boil first. Then lower your eggs in slowly and boil for 15 minutes. Immediately pour off the hot water and run your water over them. Crack them under the water. I've never had them not peel. Even fresh from the bird they peel great.

No no no no no Amy on the boiled eggs me and my sister go through this all the time hers never peel right if you're not using the instapot let them boil for it exactly 11 minutes when they start to boil and by the time you get them all in there start the peel immediately the longer they set the harder they are to peel you want to crack them put it down back in the water with your hands and kind of peel them while your hands are under the water trust me it works I'm not saying everyone will be perfect but most will never wait that is way way worse I tried to tell her if you get busy in the kitchen and you get sidetracked and you go back to them it's always going to be a terrible peel
