Making Mishima Clock - Pottery Technique

I've been wondering how you get the stamps to make such clean marks. What sort of covering are you using over it? Any advice?

They look like thin sheets of latex or other such rubber.

I covered them with nitrile sheets. The sheet prevents clay from sticking to the stamp.
