My goals are humble. I don't need, nor really want, to make a living with my music. I just figure, since I'm going to be sharing my creative value anyway, I would be selling myself short to not allow myself to gain value in return.

There is a certain freedom to knowing you're never gonna be a "rock star" and just picking up the guitar because you enjoy playing it.

Making money from my music isn't my goal. I just enjoy playing tunes, enjoy collecting gear, enjoy putting an event together with my friends in which we get to take the stage. And if thats somehow a way that I can make money, so be it. I'm not trying to make money, but if I do a gig or something and money falls into my lap doing it, that's cool. You could pay me with a couple of greasy pub chicken wings, if you pay me at all

Please make sure to reach out to Long and McQuade in Windsor, ON. It's essentially our only large-scale music store, but we have close to 300k citizens now and a clinic at our local store would reach the entire music scene! This city could use an idol, so to speak; proof that us Canadians aren't living in the shadow of American art. I'd love to see you and I think it would be a great opportunity for you as well! Keep it up sensei

Do you think you have the base for something like a signature guitar? Most are super expensive, so maybe a midpriced one would be cool, id definitely check it out, as a metal guitarist finally sticking his feet into your type of musical waters

Hey man. I really enjoyed this video. I know it would have to be a pretty in depth video, but could you explain very specifically how to begin these revenue streams? Such as amazon affiliate links, how to create an online store, etc. KZbin is something I'm considering pursuing and I want to start learning about all these things very early on!
@samuraiguitarist7 жыл бұрын
It's easy enough to sign up for those things you mentioned. Go on to the website follow the steps. The difficult part is actually earning money from them. In order to do that you need to be able to reach people who care about what you have to say.

I produce my own music in my DAW. I have yet to find a way to make money from my music and I have been at it for over 12 years. I'm told its good for videogame and movie soundtracks but I do not know where to reach out to to get comissions to compose and produce something for someone's project. I have built up a portfolio of artwork and music and even with that to show, I struggle to make money doing what I'm passionate about

Was waiting for this one, always good to have this information! I have to say I am surprised that you still doesnt have a form of performance going on, can you further explain why would that be? I mean, you surely have the network necessary, and I could be wrong, but I always though that performance was the most lucrative aspect of a musicians life, which could not support a musician alone only because you can't exactly perform 8 hours a day. Well, anyway, nice to hear from you and thanks!

Does it bug anyone else how he cuts after every single sentence? Once I noticed it I can't help but be distracted by it.
@navicto7 жыл бұрын
He's not doing it in one take. That probably means that he takes the time to edit and deliver a better product.
@froggore527 жыл бұрын
Sure, I get that he takes time to edit his videos. Just like all the better quality youtubers do. Editing out dead space is great for making a concise video. But he's editing out mere seconds of video, and he does it after literally every single sentence. The effect is more annoying than succinct.
