This was useful information! It is a dream to visit the British Isles. Maybe this is the way to rent a van for a tourist from Norway! Thanks for factual and nice videos!

Before we bought our own motorhome, we rented one via a similar platform. Found it very useful and all went very well (for us, the van owners and the van :-). The owners established the rule of getting to know us in person before accepting the booking. That lead to a personal bond and increased the confidence on both sides. I think these platforms are basically a great idea. If you personally want to rent out your Van/Motorhome/Caravan is nevertheless something YOU need to decide on your own.

Wow, I never knew you could do this. It’s like AirBnB but for a motorhome. 😎 Our motorhome is very much a caravan, so not something for us 😆! But it was very interesting to learn all about this, and nice to see that a company recognises the value of you and your channel by sponsoring the video. 😁☀️🏕🌳🏴

Cheers Stephen! It took a lot of research before we agreed to work together, but it was worth it as we both turned out to share similar values, which is so important. Thanks for watching!

This is a great idea! That being said, the fellow you interviewed sure did a lot of shrugging and winking and looking sideways and looking at the ceiling and aheming and uhmmming and made tons of non sequitur comments that didn't truly, in detail, address your questions. Some did, but lots didn't. He obviously knows how to talk around a subject rather than directly address it. One example was your question about how can a renter be assured that the rig being rented is safe. The fellow never does answer the question. And the question of wildcamping, he says his company likes working with people like YOU, Andrew, for YOU to spread the word, he never mentions any plans of his own company except they are thinking about it. "It needs to be a really big effort ..." but he doesn't mention a darn thing that his own company is doing to address the damage caused by wildcamping. And he admits that his company's website endorses wildcamping! what? Companies that help owners and renters connect are a great idea, truly! And maybe this company is super, but this fellow sure wouldn't sell me on it. I'd run the other way.

Great to see you Mr. Ditton. Much as I'd love to make money out of my van I couldn't do this. I wouldn't let my best friend or relative use my baby. Also, we are a bit weird in that we use the van as much as possible, all year round. It does amaze me how many motorhomes I see parked outside houses for weeks/months on end. Brilliant video but not for me, (unless I get a second van..............)!

I think the best way to use a Motorhome is to use it yourself! But I wanted to address all the issues and questions that someone wishing to rent theirs out would have so they could make an informed decision. Cheers!

Hi Andrew. Thanks the informative video! I'm currently based in Canada and considering buying a campervan as a mobile vacation home in the UK. I hadn't thought of letting it out to make money but after watching your video you've got me thinking now. Are you aware of any companies who offer 3rd party management of campervan rentals?
@andrewjditton2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, best get in touch with Goboony and see what they say. You never know!

Great video thank you. We are considering this as a new business venture. Something we keep debating is whether to get a hi-line or lo-line model. Most suppliers for 2022 seem to have dropped the over the cab bed hi-line models which makes us think this might be a trend of the past? What do you think from a looks and rental perspective?
@andrewjditton3 жыл бұрын
Oh my goodness Jon, I wouldn't like to say. I can only speak for myself when I say that personally, I would go low-line every time. But if you have a family, then hi-line has so many advantages. Good luck in your decision!

So lovely to see you and Dougal, missed you both a lot - hope you are bot keeping well? Sadly and disappointingly, Jake from Goboony didn't gave me any confidence about hiring a camper at all. I just didn't feel I could trust his words and I think that's how I feel about the company he works for - it's a shame that nobody from the management team wasn't able to speak to you. My wife and I have used Highland Autocampers (Mark and Alicia), based on your vlog with them and they were amazing, so was their camper (Hector)! There is another campervan hire company we've seen called Taffi Campers and we are thinking about using them for a potential trip in Wales. Not convinced about Goboony - based in Netherlands, so any legal issues will be in that country and not the UK.

I don't get this idea. Why would you rent out such a vehicle thats taken years to save for? Whatever the house rules we can be pretty sure dogs will be aboard and amorous couples sleeping on your bed. It's not for me.
