What is your preferred ratio of MC/PVA/Water when you first treat your paper?
@OrigamiByBoice2 жыл бұрын
Answered also in another comment but: About 1.5 spoonfuls for a glass cup and a .5 second pour of pva But as long as the consistency is of a thick stew, you should be good to go! Ill make a video on treating paper early next year
@andrewpatterson36622 жыл бұрын
@@OrigamiByBoice Thanks for the reply! I use Korean Hanji paper, and my mixture doesn't use pva, and I've noticed with my finished models, the paper can get a little fibrous, especially with the finer details. Wasn't sure if it's simply the paper itself, or if it was due to the lack of pva. I'll have to experiment with it!
@OrigamiByBoice2 жыл бұрын
@@andrewpatterson3662 Sometimes fuzziness or fibrousness of paper can be the result of under treated paper. Try either a bit thicker MC or try my PVA trick! My experience with Korean Hanji was similar to yours at first until I changed my mixture a bit.
@andrewpatterson36622 жыл бұрын
@@OrigamiByBoice I'll have to try out that pva. Thanks!

Hey boice is the ratio 1 tea spoon of mc and one cup of water? Also can we use wenzhou paper treated with mc for this model

Yes! You can probably go with 1.5 tea spoons of mc per cup. And 55cm wenzhou will work for this model!

I can't wait for this tutorial. This is amazing! I hope you reach 10k soon. Boice do you have any advice for me on this issue... whenever I try to make double tissue paper with methylcellulose, the edges always curl up, I don't use a fan or heat, I just let it dry, I do it on an acrylic sheet. Is there a certain technique that can prevent this? Paper issue? Methylcellulose mixture issue? I'm using Papyrus tissue paper and a small squeegee to apply. Any tips you can help me with?
@OrigamiByBoice2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I am excited to make the tutorial as well! "I hope I hit 10k soon too haha" A tip to stop Double Tissue (DT) from curling on the surface is to add a very small amount of PVA or white glue (elmers, school craft glue etc) to your MC. Notice the color of mine in the video is light white instead of clear.
@RobertGarrett192 жыл бұрын
