It's renfaire season! Oh god ball gowns- You actually posted this video on the day of the last show of the musical I worked at the past year. So this is quite thematically relevant XD First of all I'm in love with the fabric! Second thank you for showing me maths (I'll forget it all again within an hour) XD The amount or rather working with such a large amount of fabric is so scary and very exhausting. I'm so glad I made a very expensive wool cape so I didn't have to finish all the edges so carefully T^T But again the mentioned musical really made me want to make a ball gown as well (so I will probably have to go through that as well)! Since I now have a little insight in show costuming I'll have you know that those dresses are also made of who parts with are then tied and buttoned together (the dresses are actually three parts: the top, the skirt and the petticoat). God I'm so sad I'm not gonna see these costumes anymore. I wish I could have measured them all out to use that as knowledge for my own project T^T I'm aware this is the magic of editing and speeding up but the whole project appears so smoothly and quickly. You did amazing! I really enjoy the multi creator Gosh the organza is so incredibly pretty. We all knew the silhouette would slay but aaahhh! The dress is lovely and you look so happy in it! Just another proof that everyone deserves a ball gown! If it's helping these dresses were never meant to be clothed by yourself. The most important thing is that you're happy and proud of what you've accomplished because you definitely can be!

IT WAS SO intimidating working with such pretty/so much fabric, but luckily since I had to buy so much, I got a little bit of a bulk discount, but I was so stressed about messing it up and not having enough fabric to fix mistakes... working at a musical that sounds so fun! I did theater volunteer work for a VERY short amount of time while in college-- it was a lot of work but also a lot of fun, lots of very wonderful people. I've never been part of a musical though-- cast or crew! That also is 10/10 very validating to know that my sewing/costuming decisions are the same ones that professionals are making!! I will confess this project was a lot of time and work BUT it did go WAY smoother than I thought it would I was SO prepared for things to go so much more wrong than they did, which was nice because I really enjoy getting project wins it really makes my day. also 100000% everyone needs a ballgown or at least needs to wear one at some point in their life, it's such a wonderful experience. :))
Omg the dress is beautiful!!!! Color choices were phenomenal, it looks amazing, and you made it look so easy!!!! 🤩 I'm on attempt 2.5 for making a circle skirt for my petticoat, they're so confusing until it clicks😅😅
@LadySplitChin3 ай бұрын
thank you!! also circle skirts are hard !! mine DEFINITELY was more crooked than I meant for it to be, but with the layers and the length it hid my mistakes really well 😅

Watching LoL tournment? Have you started playing? I had to stop, my phone can't run Wild Rift anymore ç.ç I was mostly ADC and only managed to get 2 quadrakills... not a single penta ç.ç
@LadySplitChin2 ай бұрын
yes watching the tournament, but no to playing haha, I didn't have space to keep wild rift on my phone, the storage is taken up by pictures of my cats :)), and I just haven't gotten around to playing on PC
