Making my First Custom Fumo

Fumos are so expensive, so why not just make one yourself? I decided to make Shinobu from the Monogatari series. Prior to starting, I had no experience in sewing let alone plushie making. This project took me about 40 hours across 6 days to complete since I had to gather materials, learn how to sew, and plan out how I wanted to cut the fabric.

Yes fumos are very expensive, but at least you don’t have to buy from scalpers anymore as they are made to order now. But I do recommend making your own so you can have a fumo of any character!

Question about the fumo, the fumo BASE did you sew that from scratch as well? Or did you get a pre existing base and add new clothes and hair? I’ve seen one where they pretty much bought a bootleg fumo got all the clothes and hair off and then sewed custom stuff on but the BASE was the same like the bootleg fumo base / body
