I worked on a mini-doc by myself and the process taught me a lot. It was helpful to script it. I also pulled from my other skills as a motion graphics and 3D artist. I threw everything and the kitchen sink into my project, won an award, and the bragging rights of having a documentary under my belt. The process also showed me it's possible to create solo, though I'm open to working with other artists. I wish you the best on this project.

If you bring the same vision and creativity to this doc that you bring to your still photos, I'm all in. If we don't document life, both the good and bad parts of it, things won't ever get better. Andy

Casual viewer, finally subscribed. I liked what you had to say in this video, and I'm excited to watch your journey with this project. I'm on the edge of jumping into solo documentary film work myself, so this was a cool look into your thoughts on it. Good luck - looking forward to seeing more from you!

You’re videos keep me inspired, brother. I professionally put the cam down, maybe a good 5 years ago, and shoot when I feel compelled, but I’ve shot pretty much all my own music videos (either I shot or my cam was used and I directed) over the past 10 years (give or take 1 or 2 vids). I’ve been a bit frustrated not creating any new video media to this degree (meaning an actual cam, not a phone for TikTok-esque clips) and having my music feel naked, as well as not feeling as inspired for ideas knowing I don’t have help or the adequate funds to get it, but just watching your vids, keeps me grounded as a creator and back into a mode of “let me just try some shit/new angles/etc”. So thank you for sharing yourself and content like this, even when it’s just talking about the concept. Also, that’s one sexy ass memory card, now I’m going to have to look into that company, thanks to you, haha. Much success to you on this documentary! 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿

what issues with chosen camera - vintage lens combo did you discover during the process of making this documentary? was it the right choice of lens/camera combo now when you look back at your result? Can you make a video about how to choose the right lenses ahead of your project while one is planning out what to shoot, where to shoot, etc, - what perspective and angles to film, and then why one should choose what lenses doing it the right way? really great work and fun to hear you talking about this all! is a new way to tell the world about America to the world by these type of self-made documentaries. you think very similar to myself, but I am in the begging learning filming and tech, I took a BA in journalism and started a master in Documentary film production. but my mom got cancer and I dropped everything in life to move home to her... is been really tough after loosing her and first now I am feeling I am starting to sniff back in the direction of documentary work. I found your channel really helpful to understand how to do things by your own means. cheers from Sweden
