The good thing about this recipe, if you do find it starts drying out on you, you can put in the microwave for a bout 30 seconds or however ling you need to remelt the cocoabutter and then you can continue working, I love this recipe I do a very simular one but I use coconut oil in place of Shea , and I call mine melting sherbet, glad yor liking it. Your little ones are going to love it.

I just had to laugh when I heard where you got your recipe from, pretty sure I was included somewhere down the line, lol that's ok, that's what happens when you share recipes on fb and in soap groups, lol I'm really happy it worked out for you, they turned out great, and usually they are set up in about 20-30 min, mind you that's without the addition of Shea or coconutoil, that's with just the cocoabutter. They look awesome!

I recommend that people make EITHER a fizzing OR a foaming product, NOT a fizzing-foaming product like this. The reason is that the best way to use a fizzie (putting it in still water that you're already sitting in) produces the least foam, and the best way to use a foaming product (splashing it in water to aerate it) wastes the fizz. I also recommend that if you make a foaming product, you use a foam stabilizer, not solely an anionic surfactant like SLSA. You can make a bath very foamy without being too soapy if you add a foam stabilizer so less anionic surfactant need be used per bath. Nothing wrong with SLSA, just that relying on it alone to produce a lasting foam isn't the best. You probably want to wash with soap or body wash, and just make it foamy with other surfactants, not make the whole bath a detergent solution to wash with, but that's what you kind of have to make it if you want a lot of long-lasting foam with only an anionic surfactant. The foam stabilizer may be one or more other surfactants and/or a polymer such as a cellulosic one. My preferred surfactants to use as foam stabilizers (also foamers in their own right) with anonics are alkamidopropyl betaines.

Thank you for your comment I been trying to create a recipe with foam and fizz but I can't get it right since if water is running I don't think it fizzes as much and if water off I think it fizzes but doesn't foam as much you make so much sense ! I learn something today

Jen! You are absolutely wonderful. The audience at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Mountain Brook Birmingham Alabama made this comment to me The organ was the canvas and you were the "ART" that covered every square inch of it with the music you played especially the difficult pieces. your soaps are pieces of art. did you ever think of making soap balls like the sports balls footballs for the guy who thinks he's peyton manning,etc.

@@sgaray87933 that may be true, but (speaking for myself) do not know what is in "SLSA," which means there's a possibility that cornstarch may be an ingredient of whatever that acronym stands for.
@sgaray87933
@sgaray87933 5 жыл бұрын
@@MsButterflysting Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (SLSA) has no cornstarch in it. Slsa is what makes bubble bars and other bath products bubble. Cornstarch is simply a binder and helps with hardening.

Hi Jen, I just tried the soap queen recipe last night for the first time, my first batch was a fail and ended up having to put the goop in a jar to use for bubble baths ( I didnt want to throw it out) I used too much Glycerin because my scale was being wonky, it literally stayed in a goop state, still works for making bubbles though. My second batch turned out lovely, I did the swiss roll method. This recipe is so much easier and less ingredients and even has skin softening oils, my question to you is, would it be ok to add a little polysorbate 80 to the butters to be sure that the oils in the water disperse? Or did you find that it wasn't really needed when you used it for the kiddos?
@BeScentedSupply
@BeScentedSupply 9 жыл бұрын
you totally can add the poly 80 to help. :)

@yeseniarobles4289
@yeseniarobles4289 3 жыл бұрын
My best tip would be, friction!! You need friction for bubbles to happen. Make sure you’re putting the bubble bar right under the faucet the minute you start filling the tub with water, otherwise it will just melt/break. If you have a shower handle in your bathtub, even better, the friction of the water hitting the bubble bar will give you the biggest bubbles ever.
