a little tip for avoiding the pointed heads/shells (any any other dome shape when crocheting) if the pattern calls for 6 in magic ring followed by inc in each stitch to make 12, ignore the first round and instead put 12 into the magic ring and then continue as normal. this will smooth out that cone and create a nice rounded shape every time. (this works for whatever magic circle increase the pattern calls for, i just used 6 to 12 as an exampl) happy making!

I fed my husband some seaweed, and he's a very picky eater. He was neither impressed nor disgusted, and said it tasted like popcorn. Now I can't un-taste that! It is a similar flavor, different texture. Definitely don't be afraid to try seaweed snack!

I use cheap socks, pantyhose and t-shirt scraps to keep stuffing from showing or leaking through. I line larger body pieces with a sock or stocking segment before stuffing. For smaller areas, I wrap wads of stuffing in the knit scraps (tying them like little hobo bags).

A way to get the shells less cone shaped is to loosen the stitches while crocheting but also afterwards... just pull on them lightly. It should help :)

I love seaweed as a snack! It's very nutritious, and satisfies my cravings for some reason. I've got an 18 pack of it in my cabinet now. I love the turtles! I enjoy working with the larger crochet needles for some reason. I think I would enjoy making the larger ones. I'm wanting to make some gifts for the Children's Hospital Oncology Unit where my daughter was treated for Leukemia, so the children being treated there now can enjoy them. My daughter has been in remission for 22 years, and I have been trying to figure out what I could do for the kids that they would enjoy. I never thought about crocheting until I came across a crocheting video a few months ago, and I've been back into crocheting again, and looking for something to send to the unit for them to enjoy. Also! I saw an Instagram reel that showed you can just create the magic loop with regular worsted weight yarn, and then crochet the 6 sc with your chenielle yarn. It works great!
