I have a psycho question to ask. Nobody try this at home please but is it possible to shorten the radius of a wheel by shaving the lip? Ie 21 to 20 or 20 to 19 etc? If that’s not a good way, what is a good way to do this but still keep the face of your wheels?
@AllaboutTheWoodrows6 жыл бұрын
I like those wheels only thing about multiple pieces wheels I don’t like is the fact the bolts may not come loose but could other than that guess if I had some for me to test I’d probably find no problem
@cdavis29765 жыл бұрын
Hello, how much do you charge to widen wheels
@mr.cangieter87586 жыл бұрын
Awesome stuff yo. Shouldn't you torque in a star pattern? Also I would have ceramic coated the lips prior to assembly. Where I live, stray animals are attracted to pissing on wheels.🤷🏾♂️
@thebeattee5696 жыл бұрын
i was gonna say, wheels or round objects you always want to torque in a star pattern to avoid any warping or un-even pulling.
@OffBeatGarage6 жыл бұрын
We torque in just a 4 across pattern to bring it down. After that go around in a circle. I forgot where I saw it but that's the method for many wheel builders.

May I ask you why the drift enthusiasts tend to choose wheels with straight lips instead of the gorgeous stepped lip???? Just curious if it's an aesthetic decision or if there is any benefit for you particular application....
@OffBeatGarage6 жыл бұрын
No specific performance benefit. Mainly it's just because the most popular designs are with wheels that come standard with reverse lips (straight lips) so to go to a step lip you need to rebarrel as well which means twice the cost. Also me personally: the face of a stepped lip wheel is smaller than the face of a reverse lip wheel. So it doesn't look as cool imo because the face doesn't look as big. Also reverse lips tend to look bigger than step lips because they have that continuous reflection. Ex: A 5" reverse lip looks like a larger lip than a 5" step lip, even though they're not. So imo reverse lip wheels look bigger and wider = cooler imo. I hope that answers your question :)
@goncalofonseca59356 жыл бұрын
@@OffBeatGarage Thank you for the reply ☺ It surelly answer my question, but I still prefer the look of a stepped lip 😀😀😀
@Agent_Q5 жыл бұрын
technically a step lip setup is more sturdy due to design. But ya i prefer reverse lip cause it looks more pleasing to the eyes cause step lips “look” smaller in the same size due to the 1 step design it (and not to mention having to use a 1” smaller face for a step lip setup like what was mentioned). I mean you can remedy that by rocking FAT nasty 6.5” outer steps on like say a meister (since they come step lipped by factory design) lol cause you’ll DEFINITELY see the width visual there. But overall just go with what look you like the most. The only time step lips would be a functional benefit is when if you are doing some beastly wide as fuck rebuild where your outer lips are like doubled the size of your inners... like say using an 8” outers and 3.5” small ass inners lol. You will PROLLY have a stronger wheel using step lip combo vs goin reverse lip to help with some bent wheel prevention. Ofc people still run reverses in those fat 8” at times just for offset king carshow look cause style pointz for da panty dropping.
@Agent_Q5 жыл бұрын
OffBeat Garage and nice choice in 5.5” outers on the rears. I run 4” front n 5.5” rear outers myself on my work equips. Some fatty stuff but not THAT fatty where its too outrageous hahaha. Plus sandwich face designed wheels do make measurements wonky when you rebuild your overall wheels since the faces are 0.5” into your measurements when selecting barrels n lips for your total wheel size.
