Making NEW DOLL WIGS for Avery Styles from Rainbow High (How to tutorial)

In this video, I'm showing you how I made these wigs for Avery Styles from the Rainbow High Fashion Studio playset. I really love that this doll comes with a short pixie cut and two wigs, but I wanted to add some of my own creations to her wig collection!

Moonlightjewel has a great method for making parts on hard wig caps. Dollightful has great wig videos that go over making a part on softer wig caps, she often would sew them but has done it with glue-ive seen Poppen Attilier do it with glue too. I sewed all my wigs in the method that goes to a circular point so I can't offer personal advice on gluing them with a defined middle part. But those doll customizers have excellent videos on it! Mozekyto is always an excellent resource as someone else pointed out!

You should glue it and fold it over so you can’t see the glue 😊

I just measured, and it looks like they'd take a size 7-8" doll wig, if people just want to buy an already-made wig. Avery looks great in the purple wig, by the way.

You can fold the hair over the end of the track to make a part and use heat to set it in place

The regular dolls have rooted hair. Avery is the only one (so far) that came with the wigs!

I dunno if you still want tips for the wig but I've always found that if I'm using a cloth wig cap like the ones you bought, sewing the hair onto them instead of gluing them works wonders. I really love your vids!

I believe for the part you can glue wefts facing the wrong way and then flip them over and flatten with a hot butterknife(example can be found here kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2fMnKmHict_hs0) or rolling wefts into a circle, stitching that to the top of wig cap and flattening it with a boil wash (example can be found here kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqrShWOJpttrhq8)

Yarn is alot more realistic looking! all you have to do is comb it out (make sure its acrylic yarn btw) and straighten it (unless you want it curly) :))
