Goat facts from a goat owner! Contrary to popular belief, goats don't eat everything. They love chewing on stuff, and they usually just do it to see if it's edible or if it tastes good. There are too many plants to count that arent safe for them to eat. Also, they don't have top front teeth. They are ruminants like cows, meaning they have 4 stomachs. They can also eat spicy peppers without any reactions to it as they don't taste capsaicin. Any poisonous plants they do happen to eat, such as poison ivy, don't transfer to their milk like other animals. They are also too smart for their own good at times. My poor patchy fence can vouch for that.

In 2nd edition D&D there's a spell called "ruminant charm" which was a precursor to charm animal. Anyway, the domestic animals Ralph listed are all ruminant animals

I love how bizarre the early editions were. I can see the table conversation now: “I’d like to speak with this dog” Dm: “hmmmm, does it chew its own cud?” Rules lawyering a la the distinction of kosher vs treif 😂

The fact that with all this talk of technology and isekai that Digimon wasn't brought up was baffling, but the "every time we kiss" joke and the mention that Jacob got the Mario treatment as he took a dump for the whole episode made up for it immensely. Also, these three new mutants, and the other two unused ones are all super solid!

ive read multiple isekai where the body is still alive in their original world, usually in a coma, and then when they find out about it they have that whole conflict of 'should i return to my normal life where all the people i care about are waiting for me, or should i forget the past and stay in this new fantasy world with all these new friends (and lover/s) that i also care about.' ive also read isekais where the person physically travels to another world like through a cave or something, or is taken there by a fantasy person, or even just falls asleep and is transported there. so basically yeah death isnt completely necessary for an isekai

Isekai as a genre also would encompass the old European stories where people get lost in the woods and end up finding themselves in the realm of the fae (or via other means). In lot of Nordic folktales this moving from this world into the other world can happen just by opening a door of your house and BOOM you're face to face with something that isn't supposed to be there. The doorway isn't magical, but rather in that moment the two worlds overlapped just long enough for this to happen. The overlapping was random, and in these types of stories the goal was to find way back before the doorway closed potentially for forever, however in some places it was believed that this overlapping was more likely to happen at night and you'd have until dawn before the door would disappear. In case it isn't clear: Isekai just means "Other World" and by that definition any story that includes being transported into another world would classify as an isekai story, the mean of transportation isn't important, just that the person or thing gets transferred into the other world or from that other world into ours. *sips hot chocolate* on hindsight, I read too much, alas the tales of the olden times call for me and I must keep reading.

I actually know a series where the main character got isekaied in a bathroom. It's called "Kyou kara Maou!" Poor guy got himself flushed down a toilet. Then he accidentally got engaged to a tsundere demon because slapping someone is apparently one of the ways to propose in the world he was isekaied into. I read a little of the manga version - it's really wacky
