THIS IS A STRAIGHT UP CLASSIC! Breaking it down was great. To make a track you have to know your equipment then... 1. Make dope chords it will lead you to making dope melodies. 2. Make melodies on top of the chords. 3. Counter melodies. 4. Texture sounds to lift the track and give it that umf! 5. Get busy on the drums, hot kick, snare, percussion, will spice up the track. Simple!

So basically, I just hummed a melody and experience with different instruments to see which one sounded better.
