I've been playing through the Trilogy on the Xenia emulator. Just beat Gears 1 today. They hold up so well. Kinda pisses me off that we don't get games this good anymore.

I'm 31 and in the same boat 😂 I was blown away as a kid when I first played this and it was on crt tv in 2008 I think 😁 gears 1-3 are so awesome but for me first one is most special. I was already kinda thinking gears is in the past for me after 4&5 buuut now I'm back excited seeing E-DAY baby!! Seems like we get back to dark atmosphere and of course characters we love . I have high hopes for that game and now I kinda wanna once again go back and play 1-3😁

Gears Of War 1, 2, and 3 are some of the most fun I've ever had in Gaming. Especially co-op. Gears 1 reminded me of a modern Contra from The NES. I made so many friends and had soooo much fun over the years.

The thing that bugs me with the new ones is the fact they use so many robots on both sides of the fight. Cliffy had the right idea by only using "monsters" for the enemies it felt so much better than endless waves of shitty robot encounters. It's really too bad we don't have the same devs making the new ones, you can just tell the focus has changed and a lot of that classic gears of war feel is gone.

Unfortunately I agree with this, but ultimately the only way they could comeback is with a gears of war collection with a possible remaster of gears of war 2 or 3 with all the previous DLCs. If they did both I'd shit out my balls, but it's more than likely not gonna happen.

The first Gears was the first online game I ever played on my 360 when I was about 18. It was intense back then. I remember matches would make my heart pound and there would be this intense back and forth strategy that took place within each match. I had never experienced anything like that and still haven't to do this day! It was almost scary to play it was so intense. My palms would end up being all sweaty too. That's why the game is so great to me. Nothing comes close to the multiplayer of that game.

You can tell Epic wanted to stand out and GOW allowed them to do that. I remember my older brother getting both GOW and GOW2 for my birthday as something new to try, because he knew i liked shooters and i was only 11 at the time and played offline cod. Best thing he ever got me. I enjoyed hours on those games !

gears 1 was one of those rare games where the stars aligned from the time it came out to the effort the creative team put into it I always viewed the first game as a science fiction horror, I remember with the graphics and animation having that slightly unpolished look and the grime aesthetic mixed with chapter 2 and 3... oh wow the remake was great but I felt you lost out a bit on some of the horror vibes when 4k is emplimented I can still play gears 2006 and be slightly on edge during chapter 2 and 3

Gears Of War will always be one of my top games I will never forget all the days and nights of playing online, I played through the campaign more times than i could count way more than any other game, spoke to alot of really cool people online that and all the glitches like the kung-fu flip and crab walking 😂 this time of gaming was a great time to be alive and im glad i got to enjoy gaming before it became what it is now.

The passion, no micro transactions, the game HAD to be good or it wouldn’t sell and get shit on by reviewers…4 and 5 are great gears games multiplayer wise..but they are nothing like the original trilogy. TC is very inept and lack the creativity and passion epic had for making a good experience.
