I laugh at those who ask where this Rahman has gone. It's the same guy who burst into the Industry 25 years ago except he never stagnated in his field instead he kept evolving with the ever changing music landscape. This should be obvious to those who kept following his works through the past decades. What we do though is just listening to his old classics and switching directly to his modern (more often than not his average) works which no longer resemble any of previous products. And then we complain that he has paid too high a price for adapting to western music or that he has forgotten his roots and now only produces generic materials , all the while conveniently forgetting that artists often have varying proliferative streches. I listen to the songs from 'Roja'(1992), Dil se(1998) , Ghajini(2008) and hardly have a thing to complain about the latter compositions. /rant. I hope we get to see more of these studio recordings. Excellent song and the interactions between ARR and Sujatha at the end of it were lovely as well. Mesmerizing vocals.
