Thank you using obtainable yarns. So many times when we're introduced to a new hobby, it can be a bit discouraging because based upon experienced hobbyists, many times they suggest purchasing expensive materials. The idea is to keep people motivated in continuing the hobby. I think simpler is better especially when beginning. Thanks again.

@@Curly_n_Yarny what else do you make with a Rigid Heddle loom?
@Curly_n_Yarny4 жыл бұрын
So many things! Most commun things are scarfs, table runners, hand towels and dish towels. You can also make blankets and rugs 😄 some people even make fabrics that they then turn into clothes

Just a quick question, did you stain the wood of your rigid heddle loom. I love the colour of it versus just the natural colour mine came in. Great videos, btw. You've taught me a lot. Thanks

I did stain it 😊and I made a video about it. Here's the link kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHbXZnyvqMmLjKM

Really pretty!!! Did you have to find the same color again in a different ball when you ended your shuttle like you did in another one of your videos? This will probably be my first project too since it is acrylic. Thanks!!
@Curly_n_Yarny3 жыл бұрын
Thanks 😊 For this one, I did not have to find the same color. It's because the yarn changed color in solid blocks, which made some kind of thick stripes. I did not have to try to make a smooth gradient transition like in the other video. Still, I made sure that the colors where changing in a pretty way. For exemple, if I finished one shuttle with grey, I would have made sure not to start weaving with grey again. This helped having stripes of the same width. I hope this makes sense 😊
@ImGinaMarie3 жыл бұрын
@@Curly_n_Yarny Yes, ok I think I see what you mean. So you were probably able to finish using the remaining yarn from warping when you started your weft until it was gone and then go right into another ball of yarn, whereas in the ombre` yarn you needed to blend the transition. Right??? Thanks Mylena! Very pretty name by the way! Great videos!!

I’ve always wondered how yarn cakes could be used for weaving. What color yarn did you use for weft?

Amazing video. Was it DK weight yarn?
@Curly_n_Yarny2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! There are different weight for yarn and DK is one of them. If you look online for weight yarn chart, you can find a lot of details about each of them. For exemple, for this project, I used yarn that is considered "Worsted" or size 4.

What is the tape along the side?
@Curly_n_Yarny2 жыл бұрын
It's a measuring tape that we can get for free at IKEA. It's very thin and flexible. I used to pin it on the edge of my projects as I wove to mark my progress. I hope this helps 😊

@@Curly_n_Yarny do you remember what color this yarn was from Caron? Do you think their cotton cakes will be okay to use too?
@Curly_n_Yarny4 жыл бұрын
The color was "Afternoon Tea". I have not used their cotton cakes, but I'm pretty sure they could work too. I believe they are 60% cotton and 40% acrylic. It's worth giving it a try 😊
