I was so shocked that it wasn’t the same 2010s distopian formula like hunger games and divergent. It’s plot was unique and the character progressions were refreshing. MC wasn’t a bland hero, just a human struggling to fit in but wanting to go against the grain to follow their heart. I hope there is a sequel
