Gosh, it’s been a while since I last caught up with your trip….been away myself….Mauritius, well somebody had to…hehe….I so enjoy your videos, they are fun and informative, and for me, they really get wet my appetite for Australia……not long to go now, just 4 months and we are Tassie bound…will re live your stay there in your videos…by the way, our last trip in 2019, just before it all got tricky, my wife and I were walking in the Dandenongs…we not only heard but we saw. Lyre bird, incredible sounds….beautiful heavily scented gum walks in that area….and not far from Melbourne….fantastic country….cheers guys and hope all good with you both x

@@lydiaandwehan hi guys…yep, cannot wait, we are staying in Melbourne for a few days, this will be our third trip to Melbourne and Victoria, got a brilliant winery trip organised for a day down the Mornington Peninsula….having done the Yarra and Macedon in 2017 and 2019….in Tassie we have trips within a few hours drive of Hobart, thought we would to the south this time around, just a snapshot holiday, longer times when my wife retires…then we will spend months in Australia……now, this time around I must do my very best not to get bitten by a spider again….yep….I was poorly for a few days with a bite to my ankle, all for wearing flip flops, or thongs while out in Fitzroy Gardens in Melbourne, or it might have been in the Botanical Gardens, I recall lots of dry leaf litter as we were walking…..took a good while to heal….I have no idea what bit me, bet it came off worse though hehe…so……got a pair of very high hiking boots….might help, as I know we do have some wilder walking to enjoy…all part of the adventure…..as I said before, I so enjoy your adventures, they are so natural, exciting, stunning and good fun…..have more adventures guys…cheers…I’m starting to get excited about our trip…..counting the weeks…x

Did you think about walking onto Fitzroy Falls? It used to be fine to walk right up to the edge, and my father even carved his named into the sandstone.
@lydiaandwehan9 ай бұрын
I don't think you can go onto the falls anymore, the first lookout gets you pretty close but then the east rim walking track seems to loop way further back, avoiding the top of the falls so we just went on the western rim walking track. 😊

I live about fifteen minutes away. It’s Jervis not Jarvis. Named for the sea captain who 'found' it. Indigenous locals call it Booderee.

So happy for you both following your traveling dreams take care! PS I've never seen a teeny waterfall like that haha oh and I'm pretty sure it's Jervis Bay (not J-ahr-vis) based on how I've heard everyone at work pronounce it in SA omg i keep editing this comment, but Wehan not knowing if he is actually 26 is sending me 9:37

Always lovely to hear from you! Yeah, we heard South Australians pronounce it Jervis but it's hugely debated amongst locals in NSW 🤷♀️🤷♂️ You know you're getting old when you stop remembering your age 😉

Why does everyone think the South coast nsw starts around Jervis Bay?? There is so much more further down, gorgeous beaches and camping areas, national parks and walks. Sad you didn't hit our area. 😢
@lydiaandwehan9 ай бұрын
We were just trying to keep your beaches less crowded 😉 In all seriousness, we're sure the area is incredible, we headed straight to Jervis as it was close to get to from Canberra and we were trying to get to Sydney before being hit with the week+ of bad weather.

I guess it doesn’t matter how Mr Jervis said it? After all, we don’t say Mount Eve-rest, but that’s how he said his name … Eve, Rest.
@lydiaandwehan9 ай бұрын
We actually had no idea George Everest pronounced his name 'eve-rest'.. how interesting!

I know cash is becoming increasingly irrelevant - I've barely used it in at least a decade and inflation means cents are useless but if you can track down a 20c coin, it has a lyrebird on it.
