Do be sure to get the floor joists checked to ensure they can handle the weight of a pool table as they may need reinforcing so your pool table doesn't end up in the basement unintentionally. They're good on concrete slab, but since you have a basement...just have it checked out before you put one in there.

That happened (to a lesser degree) in my house. The prior owners put a pool table upstairs and we asked about supports when we bought and no one knew. When we removed the pool table, we noticed a bunch of nail pops and minor cracks downstairs. It was clearly from the house springing back after the years of stress from the heavy pool table.

I almost never comment on vids, but I'm a long-time lurker - you folks make great content!! My husband and I have just about finished a 5 year home reno. We literally took the place down to studs and sub-floor, moved the kitchen, removed walls, installed a support beam and expanded the bathroom. Not contractors, we just used books and KZbin to learn. Huge tip that I hope you read, Becky, as this will save you a LOT of time if you're replacing trim in the whole house. Finish the trim BEFORE installing it (especially solid wood trim) you then only have to do a finishing coat on the top face after you fill your pin holes or screws. Also trim screws are worth the price. They're hardly noticeable. Good luck with the gorgeous house!

Oh these LAMPS! Beautiful! Also love the simplistic trim. And I know we don't see it often, but staining BEFORE installing is much easier with a one coat paint, since you can make longer brush strokes without worrying about splashing stain on the freshly painted walls.
@94rome2 жыл бұрын
I was just wondering why it isn’t normally done that way! I thinks it’s more logical to stain before.

Gotta say re: the sponsor, I tried Blueland's products and I was super disappointed. Mostly in the "forever bottles", since the plastic trigger broke on one before I'd gone through the first bottle's worth of cleaner. The pump on the soap also deteriorated quickly. It feels like greenwashing when they claim to reduce plastic waste while selling these cheaply made, easily broken refill bottles.

I was wondering about that with the glass bottles, the spray head looked super flimsy
@elliew152 жыл бұрын
I have 2 of the soap dispensers and have had them for about a year and half now. While the bottle itself is glass, the actual pump is made of plastic, and both still work, but there’s been times I thought they were broken (the soap pump eventually clogs in some areas so you just gotta clean them often). What I dislike is that the refills are not as cheap as I would like, plus you have to buy so many to qualify for the free shipping option
@rebeccamahneke8082 жыл бұрын
Of course these brands are a prime example of greenwashing. If a brand really was ecological and fair in manufacturing and pricing, they wouldn't be able to offer such a high discount and partner with numerous influencers.

oh man, seeing you pull off the trim pieces reminds me of our house. The pieces themselves are beautiful, but some are SO warped and you can tell the original owners (they built the home and must have DIYed a lot) just got angry with the trim not being done and did ALL of it with a nail gun. Beautiful pieces of wood with lil nail gun holes everywhere. No putty, they're all falling off because they're just nailed to drywall, it's nuts.
