That looks really good. I love everything butter cake. This one reminds me of a lot of one traditional German cake called "Schmandkuchen", which is quite similar in ingredients and preparation, but has a filling that is based on high fat sour cream (20-24% fat) instead of cream cheese. The ending was very cute. When I was a child we always had to watch our dog when there was any kind of cheese cake, because one moment with him and the cake alone and the cake was gone :).

Keep in mind you can use any variety of cake mix + any add-in's your imagination can come up w/ but.. Found in a cookbook I got prob 12-15 yrs ago now, there was a recipe for cake mix cookies. A diff variety a LOT closer to the ingredients shown here, than the ones I've seen on the internet since... just different amts/form. A cookie my son has asked for EVERY year since... to this day, this variety is his favorite (imho, because unique combo/unlike any 'cookie' flav you can find in general market + ... prob reminds him of strawberry quik, but better, lol) SO easy, give this a try (again, you can use any variety, combo) Cream 1 stick of butter + 1 brick of (full fat/philly) cream cheese in bowl... Once combined, add in 1 lg/xl egg until incorporated. Mix in 1 boxed Moist Strawberry Cake Mix. Once done, throw in a couple hand-fulls of quality white chocolate chips (hard to find, but when I can.. i always choose the discs vs chips. Idk why, makes a huge difference in any cookie. More melty, like little pools of chocolate, yum!) put in fridge to stiffen up (10 min or so, while waiting for oven to pre-heat to 375) Get plate or bowl & put in some powdered sugar, set aside. Using cookie scoop, portion out dough & drop onto plate... roll in powdered sugar until completely covered. Place on cookie sheet & repeat. Bake 10-12 min, cool.... ENJOY! SO darn good! Chocolate cake w/ choc chips/discs or heath chips... yellow cake w/ broken up hershey bar, mini marshmallows, crumbled graham cracker... German chocolate w/ coconut + cut up caramel squares.... pineapple cake w/ cherry chips, almond extract & a few pineapple tidbits cut up.. ALL, amazing! PLUS, rolling them in powdered sugar before baking = they come out looking crackled. I guess.. ooey gooey cookies? Except, these... all come out done all the way, while still being so good! :) ENJOY!!! The strawberry ones really are quite unique. Thanks for sharing.... Stay safe & be well.
