One of the problems I've noticed with generational curses is that people in family can be so bound by their past. what happened 15+ years ago can't give you freedom today. Making Peace With Your Past | Destiny Decisions | Part 2 | Jerry Flowers Exodus 2:23-25 Exodus 3:9-10 Exodus 14:10-15 Whenever God wants you free, He will make conditions to those keeping you hostage. Some people only come back in you life. Not because they lost or want you, but they lost your services. When we face adversity, going back to what God brought us out of looks like an option again. Romanticize the memory, but forget the hangover. It's gonna be hard to make destiny decisions, when your history is your counselor. Don't let your obedience be predicated on what your past says about you. FATHER HELP ME TO MOVE FORWARD MY DESTINY IS GREATER THAN MY HISTORY What do you do when the old you and new you has to make a decision? Some of us are trying to punish ourselves. A dream is a snapshot of your coming harvest if you don't faint. It can rob you of critical steps that God asked you to go to. We deserve an F but due to what Jesus did, we get an A. Evil to live Wolf to flow The God of Reverse Meet your maker to find out why you've been made. You would never be able to make destiny decisions (a decision and choice that conducive for tomorrow/purpose/next/destiny) until you have made a peace treaty with your past. A peace treaty is an agreement with two or three hostile parties who have formally agreed to end war. Your past, heart, mind, and decisions are hostile towards your destiny. The future and next level version of you. Allowed past to become your Pharaoh. I can't hear God because I've allowed my past to be my God. Your past is in your head and heart, but your future is in God's hands and your decisions. Your past is supposed to be your point of reference, not your place of residence. Not making peace with your past calls for resentment to be your roommate. One of the ways you can be like him is to forgive you too. Forgiveness is the signature of the peace treaty you have with yourself. Yes, I ignored so many red flags. Forgive those who didn't know. Try to have people pay for what they did is costing you. DON'T TRY TO GET PEOPLE BACK BECAUSE: 1. It affects your decision-making. Bitterness will always cost for your visions & decisions to be in a fog. It'll be hard to discover destiny lanes when revenge is giving you directions. Trying to prove them wrong makes them center in your heart. When you live trying to do what God wants you to do, that de centers. 2. It doesn't please or honor God. Proverbs 20:22 Keep the critics around so they can see you succeed. Anytime you try to sabotage someone, it's your demise. Ester 7:10 3. It's stealing. Romans 12:17-19 Pray for your enemies. Don't act like it never happened. Choose to rise above it. 1. It's a kingdom principle. 2. You will live exhausted. Because you're spending all your strength on fights that have expired. God will only give power & grace for fights conducive to your destiny. The tactic of the enemy to waste strength on things that don't matter. Exodus 3:10 If God gave you a word, He will make a way. Layovers are the middle, switching flights. To make peace with the past, 1. Process the Voices (Guilt, Shame, Conviction) Guilt hands you regret due to something you really did. Shame gives you a label from that action. Conviction gives you the reminder you are made more for this. Sin means to miss that work, but remember who and whose you are. Repent is when I turn away. Remorse is the same heart. Everyday, peace and chaos will show up at your door in the form of choices. John 8:7 John 8:9-10 2. Know Ishmael mistakes don't prohibit Issac The mistakes of your past to be your testimony. Someone's mistake can be the transportation for someone else. 3. Decide to believe God's word Romans 8:28 If your superhero is you can hear God, the method of Satan will be to flood your ears with voices and sound.

I actually had the pleasure to visit in-person yesterday with my kids all the way from Humble... the whole service blessed me... and even my 7-year-old son came and stood at the altar because he said he needed to for himself...my God I was so touched by that moment. And the message!! Whew, so many gems! But the part about forgiving yourself like Jesus did is still ringing in my heart... because I realize that I really have been resenting myself and thus causing me to not "release my past". Stuck in between Pharaoh and his army and the raging seas ahead of me, I've been so lost and irritated because I don't know what to do. But I can't change the past, so let's trust God as we press toward our future. *And side note, Pastor Tanisha, the FIRE that is your voice shook my whole core!! Yes ma'am!!

Welcome to the Graveyard of My Dreams Down deep in the soil of discouragement. Watered by the tears of despair. The ground has become hardened like the heart that once beat there. The coffin was sealed shut with the glue of unbelief. Great faith lies still like a bag of bones waiting to be resurrected. Once is no more. The tombstone reads, “Buried Alive, Dying to Breathe” I wrote this from a bleeding heart. Two Spirit filled men spoke over me at separate times telling me the same thing…. “You are called into ministry.” I searched high and low for the Lord to show me and gave up. Yes pastor you're talking to somebody and it's me! God wants to wake me up from this foolishness I inflicted on myself.... 🤦The whole preaching is literally for me. And I'm crying a lot. I couldn't sleep even though I'm so tired. I felt the urge to watch a preaching from you specifically and normally I watch your preachings chronologically so I don't miss anything. I haven't watched in weeks or maybe days but the title seems like it's exactly about what I'm going through so I watched it. As soon as you mentioned how Moses tried to make excuses as to why he's not qualified for his purpose, it's similar when I say about how I'm not fit for something. 😭 My past is affecting me rn. I'm sick of being like this. I know I don't deserve to suffer like this.

First, I want to say I'm glad I stumbled onto this series. This word and your work Pastor Flowers has been perfect for where God is taking me and what I see God doing in my life. It's totally fitting so I'm thankful for that. Secondly, this really hit home for me because I realized that alot of things, people and events from my past that I thought made me strong actually hardened me. Fortunately, where I am today, I want to redevelop and rediscover that part of me that may have been abandoned because I felt the world required me to be independent, "strong" and prideful.
