I never thought of putting a groove into the side of the pendant to put the wire in. Excellent idea! Beautiful slabs. I would have needed a math lesson too. Hard to stop the count at three then that crazy lace agate is so beautiful! Great job on the pendants. Best wire rapping I have see so far.

I’m definitely a beginner when it comes to wire wrapping. There are some people who do amazing work. My wife and I both prefer simpler wraps than some of the fancy ones though.

@@beverlyobrien7954 I use the really cheap ones from Kingsley North. I buy them 100 at a time to save some money. Some wear out before the first hole and the best ones might drill a dozen holes. They work decent on puddingstone, but hardly scratch Lake Superior agate. They do ok on unakite and quartz. I am thinking about trying something else next time. Spreading the bail like that is called "rabbit ears". Sometimes it helps keep a pendant with a definitive front & back from turning wrong side front

Interesting, I was a cabinetmaker for many years and I can give you a time saving tip when using that glass grinding machine you cut the grooves with. If you put a washer with the correct bore size over the cutter and clamp that on top if it is the correct diameter you can use it as a depth guide

Hi Symon, that’s a great tip, except that the bit wears down as you use it. I suppose I could have a series of washers that I change as the bit wears down. I’ll have to think about how I can make that work. Thanks!

I’ll probably rewatch some of the how to videos about tumbling - I have 3 tumblers running right now (the qt-66 arrived and I got both 6 lb and 12 lb barrels). The making pendants videos are giving me ideas about what to do with some of these stones as well. 🤓

The funny thing is that she wore a lot of jewelry I made for her to work. She's a teacher. She had only worn a few of these to school when school was closed in March. This year she has a job working from home with the online students and she never wears necklaces anymore. Maybe I should have gotten a round tuit earlier.
