I wish you could have demonstrated some of how you mixed some of these, but I do appreciate the information and money saving ideas

@@createinspain Wow love this video!!! I am going to try this! Do you use this instead of inkpads regularly?

This was fabulous information! When you mentioned the insoles because they soak up moisture-brilliant! All my insoles are in my boots, But, I had an Ensolite pad for under a sleeping bag, and have been using it around the barn and to cover handles on buckets etc., I had some old hinged tins like Altoid tins, and cut the ensolite to fit, dropped on some glycerine and my home made ink dye. I don't emboss anything, but do make little leather notebooks and use my old rubber stamp for my last page.......

One of the best things |I have is a set of 12 large bottles of liquid food colouring. I'm not kidding, I use them a lot. First, you use them as food safe airbrush paint (intended purpose), then I use them in an airbrush on paper, but also as liquid inks - mixed with water you get paler colours, add mica and you get sparkle (old sparkle eyeshadows or bought for purpose). Add glycerine and it will hold embossing powder. Mix it with fabric medium and you have fabric paints; mix with texture gels and pastes for infinite variety......the list goes on.

You have a very mellifluous voice. Thanks for the tips :) Yes I have been in the same situation, wasted good money on bad ink pads that have already dried out and it is annoying.

Thank you! Especially annoying if you have had to make a special journey to get them or waited a long time for them to arrive!

This is a great way for me to use some of the paints and watercolors I already have and with very nice results. No need for me to have to purchase several colors of embossing powders. This embossing video made everything so clear. Thank you for showing us all how to do it.

Merryscrapper, here is the link. I have since found that oil paints are best for longevity - the acrylics will still eventually dry up and the oils are great for embossing. The acrylics will still do for emergency or short term use though. createinspain.blogspot.com.es/2015/10/disastrous-docraft-ink-pads-and-my.html

Hi Sandra, I usually come to Spain in the winter and bring craft stuff with me as I make cards. (Alimited amount as I am in a motorhome) I am currently in Villa Joiosa near Benidorm. There are no crafts shops near here apart from a small one in Benidorm (mostly artist materials) and a DEALZ (Poundland group) just outside Benidorm and I wonder where you buy your craft supplies. There is a DOMTI here so I use that but there is nowhere to browse for crafty stash. Any ideas? I love the video about making stamp pads, as I think branded pads are very overpriced. Thanks for all the info in this video I will find it very useful.

Hi Sam? I get a lot of things from the Chinese shops here.Occasionally I get things on line for crafts but not often. If you have not perused the craft isles in the Chinese stores you are missing out big time! Don't forget that even if you buy a lousy cheap pad, you can always refill it. Glycerine will work for heat embossing, as will cheap oil paints. Food colouring will work where you would normally use watercolours....Aldi and Lidl do occasional craft bits and the Carrefour has a small range if you are desperate. I do of course make my own polymer stamps, that helps!

Jackie G - Not a good idea if a pad is not water based in the first place - or is suffering a lack of the original pigment.
