Stunning, brillant and perfect as ALWAYS. Really, I've been watching C3D and AutoCAD content on KZbin for 5 years in a row. Simply, noone can make such rich information more crystal clear, straight on point and well explained than Jeff and Jerry. There is preparation for the videos/classes with great and objective examples. The voice is clear and at perfect volume, the mouse movements are so perfect that you can easily follow what they are doing, there is no SPAM or time lost, etc. etc. I'm super thankful for knowing this channel and I pray for its existence. I've became SO MUCH better AutoCAD user since I've started watching your videos and I've been learning so much that It's a pleasure for me to write this testimonial. IMO Autodesk should put a statue of you guys in front of their office lol, because everyone that touches this channel get in love with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and other softwares. Your information brings passion, easy of use and love for those amazing programs. THANKS!

Luiz is right Jeff. I strictly use Autocad Civil 3d for my homebound business and have learned everything from your and Jerry's videos. I am a single father of a special needs child and had to create a homebound business to allow me to make a living and care for my child. I had basic skills when I started and could not afford school or any instructional course to improve my skills. I watched other instructional videos, and giving them credit, I did learn some things, but when I watched a handful of your instructional videos it felt like I went to a class! The skills and applications you guys teach on here are skills and applications that are used or could be used, every day. For the last couple of years, I have been able to generate professional plats at a quick turnover rate thanks to your shortcuts. I have literally talked to instructors about signing up for their classes and after telling them what I've learned, they said it would be a waste of time unless I was looking for certifications. That's what I will be doing soon. Thanks again for being a major part of my success. You guys are the best.

I could not attend but watched your recording just now. Awesome. I knew most but still learned a few new things. All small little things but these are little things that make you so much more efficient, fast and tasks less stressful and tedious when drafting. Look forward to the next one!

Good stuff. You can also do a crossing freestyle by holding the left button down and dragging left instead of right. With groups, you can also quickly disable and reenable groups (to say, modify an item in the group) with Ctl-H. For legacy cad fellows, another old selection method is FILTER. It doesn’t find non-legacy AutoCAD objects, but can be cool in some cases - such as finding plines less that 1 unit in tenth. It’s also Boolean so can add these with this or this or these without that, etc.

Thank you Dave! I appreciate the comments! I started using FILTER in AutoCAD 12 back in the early 90's. I logged a lot of time using the And/Or/Exclusive Or/Not Boolean functionality. I also loved that (unlike with QSELECT), the filters could be saved and re-used in other drawings. Due to the 30 min. time constraint, we didn't have enough time to do it justice (considered it "bonus content" that we could add to a future session). If FILTER recognized Civil 3D content, it could be a game changer for civil infrastructure workflows. Thank you again for your support!

Map 3D is certainly a topic we'll get into in the future. In the meantime, my brother Jerry has posted several Map 3D videos on his KZbin channel - kzbin.info He is also participating in the 30 min. Workout Series so you'll find even more of that content on his channel as well. Hope this helps!

Is there a cheat sheet for each of these select key in commands?
@moustafaelsobky63644 жыл бұрын
As usual I have a great time with your amazing techniques It would be really powerful if we could have a dynamic selection set based on some spastific properties Like that one in MavisWork (selection set by search)
@JeffBartelsCAD4 жыл бұрын
When you get a chance, I recommend exploring a command called FILTER. (This command pre-dates QSELECT.) Using filter, you can create precise selections having boolean options such as AND, OR, Exclusive OR, and NOT. Filters can also be saved for re-use. Since the FILTER tool is a native AutoCAD command, it doesn't support Civil objects. That said, depending on the selection you require, it may suit your needs. Hope this helps!

Hello. Can someone help me, in Civil3D 2024 how can I select entitites (polylines) based on Object Data, what is available for the polylines? For example I want to select every object in the drawing, which are on the same layer and has the following Object Data: V_ELHMOD=1. In Hungary it means every cables and wires, which are not underground.

The recordings you are looking for may be the ones I created for Lynda.com. I believe someone was copying those recordings and posting them to KZbin. For that reason, the folks at Lynda.com may have asked that they be taken down. I believe Lynda.com offers 30 day free trials. If you visit lynda.com/jeffbartels you should be able to find the course and utility network recordings.
