Making a splayed joinery cylinder is not easy but its very satisfying. And for this table build the round profile is perfect for this round table.

Well done on the build and the video. I have a similar table in ash sitting in the clamps on the bench so this video popping up was timely. Glad I watched as I had a different plan to attach the top but I will go with those fasteners. I look forward to more of your work. Thanks

Tip for you brother, as a fellow woodworker. Use a bondo spreader instead of a metal spatula, to spread the material. - Oil will catch some of the metals and can change the color of the stain - Scratches/dents the wood surface when spreading with a metal spatula

Beautiful job....How did you calculate the angle cut of the base to get it flat with the floor, and same thing for the top of the cone. How did you cut it to have it flat where the top of the table sits flat on it?

You don’t trust your jointer? What’s is the point of having one then? Great project btw. Absolutely beautiful table!

I’m very interested in how you cut the secondary angle on the staves? I prefer to have one side of each cut on opposite sides of the blade. From your excellent video, yielding a beautiful result, I assume that every cut was from the right side of the blade. Is this correct? Great match!

Hey, I love this video, I am trying to use the calculator, but I’m having a hard time. Maybe you could help me. So the base will be 26” wide 29” tall with a 8 degree incline.

Hi! Awesome video - is this a tapered cone shaped base or is it a consistent diameter throughout?

Hi. Is the taper angle determined by default or you can set it up at any value you like? For example if you make a cone shape wide at the bottom and narrow on top - than your angle should be different, right?

Did you use a calculator to determine the side angles and tapers?

Awesome video man. What is the diameter of your round top?
@madebylyons

Thanks! 32 inches. I will say on this build that after some use my particular base at 12 inches is a little too narrow for younger kids who might lean on it more or in general not control their body weight as it gets tippy. I ended up making a second base at 16 inches wide on the bottom of the base. This is rock solid now.
