Perhaps I missed it but what type of fiber are you preparing? Love how relaxing this video is btw - really nice and informative 😊
@theFiberSprite3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The fiber is wool, and it was marketed to me as Romeldale, but it's a little coarser, and I suspect it might be crossed with Corriedale.

Thanks. I don't know how to make one myself, but there are many plans online that show you how. Lots of nails and wood, mostly.

Lovely video I have never seen a swing picker before. Where can I buy one please
@theFiberSprite3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I bought mine used at a fiber festival. I have seen them listed on Etsy and Ebay. Some online fiber stores like the Woolery also carry swing pickers.

May I ask what drum carder this is? I’m thinking about getting one for my felting projects. Lovely video.

Hi! This is a Clemes & Clemes carder. I really like it for its smoothness - other carders I have tried are much noisier and difficult to crank. Mine didn't come cheap, but I do feel like it was worth every penny!

Hi! How I can order this fantastic fiber sprite? I live in Finland, spin yard of My own alpacas.
@theFiberSprite Жыл бұрын
Hi, our multitools are available in the US on Etsy and Amazon. We generally don't ship internationally, since the cost of postage is as high as the tool. If you have several friends who would like to put in an order together to offset the cost of shipping, you can message us on Etsy and we'll see how we can help you. The drum carder is made by Clemes & Clemes out of California, although there are other drum carders on the market. Louet makes one that might be easier to get in Europe. The swing picker is homemade. You can find plans to build one yourself. I have also seen them for sale on Ebay from time to time. Happy spinning!

Can a friend tell me the price of this set and where it can be bought? Help me from Pakistan
@pamelaschultz29903 жыл бұрын
Hi, these items are not sold as a set. The drum carder is made by Clemes and Clemes, and cost approximately $1,300. The diz is made by me and costs between $16-20. It is available at www.etsy.com/shop/thefibersprite. The swing picker was purchased used, but similar ones can be found on the Internet for between $300-$900. Prices do not include shipping. Thank you!

Perfect! Thank you. I am rebuilding a motorized drum carder for my wife. I feel that tool will help when we change fibers to eliminate cross contamination. Sometimes the wool is to be purely one type. JS

Где купить такую прялку?

This is purchased from Clemes and Clemes in California, USA. It's called a drum carder and Louet makes one that might be more readily available in Europe.
You can often find swing pickers on eBay. Mine was handmade with wood and nails, so that’s also an option. The drum carder I purchased through Clemes and Clemes.
