Triggered feminist from tumblr You tried to be funny, sarcastic and to me... that is just stupid. Specially when Helen Davis only comment with no offense, sarcasm or anything annoying... like you. She make a cinematic, a very short film, and did it correctly so... shut up. And i don´t want to argue with trolls, so... shut up. Bye ;)

One quick follow up question: for any creative liberties or practical assumptions you guys had to make during the project, like approval/verification from a board of game reps or a specific contact person (rep from art dept) with the game comp?

also wanna add for projects like these it is bets to have rhino 3d in your pipeline as being a polygon model and cad modeling app you can translate any 3d model concept art into more practicla to work with STLs that have proper measurment and thus be iehter properly printed or in this case crafted/engineered the old fashioned way:D. Adam savage i believe does this during his career as a model maker:D with one ep of tested showing off a turrent he made for the matrix:D
@KaltatheNobleMind9 жыл бұрын
RCKnut that is true. i just always seen it used for the mathematical percision CAD tends to do, with hevy use of the t-splines plugin that turns poly models into cad friendly nurbs. i just know i have a hard time in maya and such to get proper measurments compared to say 123d design . i dunno.
@MeshJedi9 жыл бұрын
Maya is more of an organics NURBS modeller as well though, in fact it used to onlydo NURBS in it's earlier versions (well so did Rhino but it dded poly's earlier). precision modeling requires a different approach though. I'm kinda OCD about snapping and round numbers and such when modeling and prefer MAX, but that's probably because that's what I've always used, except for some minor forays into Rhino way way back when I did TA modding and it was the only program that could output TA models :p
@KaltatheNobleMind9 жыл бұрын
RCKnut since i hae a mac for my primary comp i never had a chance to use 3ds max but the tuts i saw make me want it.:D i loved how suffciently curved the lattce tool is and the smmetry modifyer is a must:D had no idea MAX had that kind of percision:D and i hear it is dropping in popularity though:( i forget what TA is^^; i just know i wanna make action figures:D maya or nother poly app for blockout zbrus for sculpting and some mesh friendly CAD app for percision stuff like joints and percision measurments for compatability:D

so you had both the ortho pics and the atcual model??? wodner why you just didnt export the various parts of the model as pepakura stencils to gauge fitting and accuracy, then build the actual prop armor off those? still glorious raditional work through:D there is still a lace for practicals in this CGI heavy industry, and i say this as a CG artist.
