I've been collecting for 40 years and consider myself pretty knowledgeable, I had never heard of J or K or several others until this video. And I always assumed T stood for tobacco. Thanks for the lesson.

This isn’t an uncommon reaction. Especially for those that began as sports collectors. I collected for quite a while before I realized how exhaustive Burdick’s work actually was.

Great idea for a video series.

Thanks Jim! It is a bit of a dry subject but should be informative for those that have a desire to understand how it was all organized! The ACC really was a simple but extraordinarily well organized effort!

@@starsofthediamond7126 I like your idea of an agreed upon group to update/keep it current, but how would you go about establishing that?

@@trevorsbaseballcards7061 I do but not heavily. I still love busting packs and have pulled some pretty cool cards the last few years (we got a Gold Tatis Jr in 2019 Series 2). If you ever need someone to fill in a spot or two hit me up and I’d be into it. There is something fun about opening packs that is hard to recreate focusing simply on vintage as I don’t like busting vintage packs (the value just doesn’t make sense given the cost)

Hello, would 1938 Churchman's Boxing Personalities have an ID number? Thanks
@starsofthediamond7126 Жыл бұрын
They do but not in the T-card series because they are a British tobacco card set not an American set. The British Cartophilic Society gives every set made from around the world their own set number. I am not sure how often people utilize the British numbering system though.

Hello again, I now own a copy of the ACC, I cant figure out what the listing is for 1904 Fan Craze Game Strike/Batter, can you help thanks
@starsofthediamond7126 Жыл бұрын
@@diecastflashback Cards from games (like Fan Craze) are included in the ACC as “WG#” series but were not a well studied subset of cards at the time of Burdick. It was a category that admittedly needed more study and one he hadn’t done much work on. The American League and National League Fan Craze sets have been given the WG2 and WG3 designation, So that is what those are. There was a set of Fan Craze cards that were more “generic” and didn’t include the players themselves…it is debatable whether these should be part of a WG2/3 designation or if they should be considered their own thing.

It's kind of confusing when WG are greeting cards. Thanks for your time, by the way I purchased a couple items from you they were great thanks Don
