Hello… I just bought 3 of these cards in an antique shop. The previous owner cut off the corners but it’s cool to have them. Thank you for this clip I learned a lot. Have a great night!

It depends very heavily on the player and condition. One of the few sets where the better the players are often the MOST common as they made them for many years and lesser players were only available for a brief time.

Hi Rhett! Talk about confusing... I wanted to know what you thought about this Hank Gowdy maybe 1922 but definitely different back than all of the ones you showed with the front in lowercase.. I almost blew it off but after a bunch of research, I'm even more interested. It passes the smell test, so before I wrote it off as a fake, I found your video.. It has the Babe Ruth back to a T, but the box in the front is short and the print is in lowercase. Hopefully that makes sense to you.. these are so all over the place that I'd love for you to check it out if you have time. Clear as mud set..

Hi, I sent you an email. I found 100+ of these cards in my grandpa/great grandpas old collection and they are all different types, was wondering if you’d be able to talk to me to help figure out this whole complicated situation, I have so many questions. I’m also only about halfway through the collection, and there’s other valuable cards in there such as R346, T206, etc. I want to sell them but only for a fair price, and I don’t know nearly enough to feel confident in selling them yet.

Hello Rhett here’s a idea for a show if you want to consider it. Could you do a show and go through all 27 years of the Zeenut run and talk about the top 3 cards in each year that are the most desirable, the top 3 cards that are the most scarce and the top 3 that are the most valuable? Zeenuts need more love in the hobby! Thanks

Rhett, I have watched a couple of your videos on the 1921/1922 Caramel cards. Very interesting and your attention to detail is incredible. I found a Babe Ruth 1921 Caramel locally, and I am concerned with its authenticity. Would you consider looking at pictures that I have of it before I make my purchase? Or possibly give me some pointers... Respectfully, John

As to your Ferd Schupp(what a name!) card: isn't it more likely that the change from E121 to E122 was an evolution rather than a complete reset? So there could be any number of variations in design/font/photo treatment between E121 and 122... thanks for the vid!
@starsofthediamond7126
@starsofthediamond7126 Жыл бұрын
It could be I suppose but Schupp is the only player found with the strange front. Why? We will never know. The E122 set is a funny one in that the 80 “reset” cards were from an early print run of E121 Series of 80 and not a later print run, which is what you would assume if it was an evolution. Another possibility is that they utilized a second printer to keep up with the demand and instead or making another set of plates to print them they used a set of cards reformatted to by that other printer. Pure speculation but that it sure is fun to speculate! 🤣

@starsofthediamond7126

They do but not in the T-card series because they are a British tobacco card set not an American set. The British Cartophilic Society gives every set made from around the world their own set number. I am not sure how often people utilize the British numbering system though.

Hello again, I now own a copy of the ACC, I cant figure out what the listing is for 1904 Fan Craze Game Strike/Batter, can you help thanks
@starsofthediamond7126
@starsofthediamond7126 Жыл бұрын
@@diecastflashback Cards from games (like Fan Craze) are included in the ACC as “WG#” series but were not a well studied subset of cards at the time of Burdick. It was a category that admittedly needed more study and one he hadn’t done much work on. The American League and National League Fan Craze sets have been given the WG2 and WG3 designation, So that is what those are. There was a set of Fan Craze cards that were more “generic” and didn’t include the players themselves…it is debatable whether these should be part of a WG2/3 designation or if they should be considered their own thing.

Hey Rhett watched this great video for my 5th or so time 122/123 players in set you have what looks to me to be 8 variations. How many players do you know have variations? Bottom line if you were to collect every player/ variation and have a master set what would the final number be for the set?
@starsofthediamond7126

I would have to check and see the total number of variations to get you a final number on the known variations. Some of the variations are very attainable while others are insanely rare (like single digit known examples rare)

Super coincidental (for me) that your video is about 1948 Topps Magic. I was in an Arkansas antique store last weekend and found an old scrapbook page with 18 of them pasted into a scrapbook. 3 notable ones were Babe, Honus, and Tris Speaker. Spent $15 total for all 18. The stuff of dreams. I've spent the last couple of days learning about the set. They're super neat! And, as you said, the first Topps Set! Great vid!

@starsofthediamond7126

Not typically. They are often in the highest demand however which makes them sell for more and less likely to trade hands for that reason. Essentially, nobody can have too many Babe Ruth cards.
