We need regulation. Transfer portal should have limits and be open after the bowls. There also needs to be a NIL cap
@SnowmanTF29 күн бұрын
Unless playing on team is split from enrollment or entire schedule of season is shifted earlier, it is going to be very hard to get around the timing of transfer portal issue. Since there pretty much is a hard limit on getting players into classes by January, with at least a little time to relocate. It seems hard to see NIL ever being worked out in a way that is going to be favorable for teams outside P4, even what congress is considering looks to be tied to program revenue, so more likely to entrench stratification of FBS into 3 tiers than change current trajectory.

Before you do that, you need to completely separate college athletics from college academics. The goals of a college's athletic department having nothing in common with the goals of college academics. It's time to separate.

Another Sooner here. Found your channel when Arbuckle’s name came up as OC. Great job y’all do. Watched WSU 1st X to see the O and left blown away by Mateer. Heard Dickert talking and he seemed so genuine. Hate what college football has become. Hate the realignment. Hated seeing y’all and the Beavs getting left behind. Never wanted OU in the SEC. It’s all about the bag now and all loyalty and integrity is gone. I hate programs feeling forced to get dirty to stay in competition. Sux. Pulling for y’all.

From a Coug who sat with his family in the OU section during the 2003 Rose Bowl...OU SUCKS! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Just kidding. Had a great time and far better fans than the Michigan ones in 1993. Appreciate your post and sentiments. Stinks you guys took Arbuckle and Mateer, but that's college football right now.

@ricks4361 Hey, Sooner fan Ben Arbuckle isn't all that great, but ok. He couldn't establish a run game with WSU for two years! He kind of reminded me of your old DC Alex Grinch! 😂 . John Matteer is great, but I can't throw the long ball because of his side throws! Last 3 games teams figure him out, John Matteer couldn't do much against the defense! Good luck!

Coug head coaches that have had success are usually on the older side ( Walden, Price, Leach, Erickson )Pullman is a good place when you are done making your name and chasing the almighty dollar. When you get old you realize that being safe and not getting carjacked or assaulted is fairly important to your well-being.

Boomer Sooner here. Good video !! You guys have a number of very valid concerns - especially Coach Dickert suddenly leaving the program after firing/losing the key coordinators. This is simply not good for the game of college football and something needs to be done about it.

I worked at call a coug last year, basically cold calling for donations to the school, it's hard work man lots of people 25-45 are super unwilling to give to the school for anything much less athletics. wsu has an alumni outreach problem that current students cold calling can't necessarily fix.
@user-sg8kq7ii3y7 күн бұрын
WSU doesn't have a loads of multi-millionaire alumni and donors like USC, Stanford, Michigan, Texas, etc. has.
@camdenjeske13857 күн бұрын
@user-sg8kq7ii3y it ain't about millionaires cuz I'm that, it's the fact that the school seems to keep cutting funding to things that directly help the school, and people notice that, and don't want to give money to a poorly run organization
@user-sg8kq7ii3y7 күн бұрын
@@camdenjeske1385 It is about the multi-millionaires. Are you denying that schools, like USC, UCLA, etc. have a much larger fan base, and, by default, more multi millionaires?
@camdenjeske13857 күн бұрын
@@user-sg8kq7ii3y I'm obviously not denying that they have larger fan bases and more millionaires. I just think that pulling funding to athletics shrinks the number of people that care about the school and makes it less likely to get big donations from older alumnis. sure some millionaires would be pretty sick but I don't want to believe that the only solution to our problem is a bunch of millionaires lol. guaranteed there's plenty of cougs on 6 figures plus but everyone always upset with the university these days

Oklahoma has not lost anymore players to the transfer portal than any other major P-4 program. Additionally, like every major program, none of Oklahoma's key players entered the portal - it was mostly roster cut related, non-starters, injury-prone guys, and walk-ons. The Sooners are loaded with talent and should roll into next season back on par with arch rival Texas.
