Have you ever tried refined hemp oil in any of your soaps? I've recently discovered this oil and its wonderful. Very moisturizing, very pale color, and has worked well for me.

I have and love the soap you can get from it. I find the cost can be somewhat prohibitive - and tend to add this to cremes and lotions or as the super fat of a hot process soap to maintain the awesome properties of the oil.

Hello Hello! THANK YOU so much for making this super easy to follow video! Both you and Mrs. Soap & Clay have helped me overcome the "soap imposter syndrome"! While I'm not intimidated to try soaping anymore, my first two attempts at making Mrs. Soap and Clay's recipe were both a flop- I followed the videos and recipes but, for whatever reason I can't get the soap to trace (even when stick blending for 10 minutes). Is there a special technique with the stick blender or do you have any guesstimates as to what I may be doing wrong (probably a whole lot). Thank you so so much!!!

Hi, There are 3 factors that can effect your soap tracing: 1. Recipe - this could be a recipe you have found or bought or one you have created: Oils - the more liquid oils the slower your recipe might trace Water - the more water in the recipe the slower you will trace - the standard soap calc is 38 for hot process - cold process should be lower Sodium Hydroxide - make sure it is 99% pure and is within date. 2. Temperature - the cooler you soap the slower you will trace - increase the working temperature a little at a time and make sure your oils and lye are within 10 degress of each other (this helps avoid false trace or shocking your oils or lye too much) 3. Fragrance oils - just like you can have oils that accelerate trace - some oils can retard (slow down) trace too. If you want to add to surfactants, yes, it would work but they arent necessary. Only if you want a large bubble would you add to surfactants. You will need to add steric acid to the paste to make a sugar scrub. It makes a beautiful whipped soap.
