Let's Learn Something: Project no.19
Good day guys :)
I make this stainless pipe bender because some of you requested to me to make this bender. and making this bender is hard because the stainless pipe is not like ordinary metal pipe that easily to bend.

I LOVE WHAT YOU DO! You are going to be a great fabricator! Tip: REMOVE BEARINGS BEFORE WELDING! NEVER PASS CURRENT THRU A BEARING! The current will roast the rollers! Tip: It’s a good idea NOT to weld on your lathe. The finely machined surfaces can be easily be damaged! Use a cover if unavoidable!

Forget those bearing hurt..those sprockets will only turn less than 1rev per minute..at least he is showing the whole idea without using complex machines, for not everyone here have special machine to build such project

I was going to tell you about welding with the bearings in but several mentioned it already. Use the bearings to align the welding then clamp the race in place. Take the bearing out. Then weld.

It probably wasn't the best idea welding the bearing sleeves to the plates with the bearings still in them, the intense heat of the welding tends to destroy and distort bearings, just something to keep in mind for future projects.

it surprised me, that you have a lathe and you weld the bearings to the metal plate, instead of turning housings for the to be weld on to the plate, i think ones those bearings brake you'll have to star from the beginning

Get yourself a wire welder from harbor freight for about hundred dollars, it's much better and easier to use on the type stuff you fabricate, nice creative skills enjoy watching.
@mercer982
@mercer982 4 жыл бұрын
it wouldn't benefit him at all since he welds all kinds of stuff together. not pure store bought materials. stick welding is the way he should keep going. besides, there's probably no harbor freight where this guy lives.

@@mercer982 wire welder is much more versatile, can weld from 20 gauge up to 3/4 think with most wire welder, stainless steel, aluminum and much more not to mention its 3 times faster and cheaper than rods. I think I should know after all it's what I do for a living certified welder.

it hurts to watch him build something. he didn't even care about the machines for example he welds on the lathe. He also welds directly on the bearings. if you try to recreate this pls use the proper way and be smart.
