12:40 By this point I'm sure you've already figured this out. But for anyone who hasn't, the bridge is wibbling because the hydraulic is overextended. The hydraulic at that point can't fully extend because the rest of the bridge is holding it down. The solution, instead of moving the joint around, is to reduce how far the hydraulic extends until it stops wibbling.

But why didn't the other side break then?
@CertifiedDoc2 жыл бұрын
@@nihlify Both sides were right on the breaking point, but it comes down to random chance. The game's physics engine is imperfect, and it probably boils down to some floating point rounding error. It could be that the mounting points are not exactly symmetrical, or maybe something about the direction of the spans makes them function differently. There's another buggy level with two completely separate - but identical - spans. On that one, the far span can collapse when a vehicle drives over the first one even though none of the stress should transfer across.

Looking forward to seeing you try the new levels! BTW, near where I live, there are some bridges where, near the middle, there are two towers, and something lifts the section of bridge between them straight upwards to allow large boats to pass through. With the exception of the Rolling Bridge, all the real-world bridges you built have been static, not using hydraulics that move, so I’d like to see you build one of these real-world “drawbridges” sometime as a bit of a challenge. For examples, I think there are some in or near Cleveland? I’m not sure. I’m terrible with small-scale geography.

0:00 POLY BRIDGE! It’s been quite a while since we’ve had poly bridge, so this one better be good :P I was there for the stream, so I know what’s gonna happen, but I’m still exited to see what footage is going to make the cut :) (It is still one of my favourite streams, only one that tops it is the birthday stream) 0:05 80 seconds for an add? :P usually ones that long are saved for the end (not very good for retention) 1:08 That dragon is quite good, suspiciously good. I’m assuming you were copying a reference image. I like the use of colour throughout, using different materials to emphasise certain parts, very nice! :) There are still two large issues with the design. 1. you say it is a welsh style dragon, yet there is no tail coming out the mouth 2. The bottom is an arch, what are you, an architect? 1:24 I also remember rock rest, I found it quite hard my first time trying it, since I was unaware that nodes could be put on rocks, but once I knew that the level and the challenge mode one became a lot easier :) 1:39 Yes, it is just there, that is what ‘1 road short’ means. :P 1:45 Usually limos don’t help, because they usually have low speeds and horsepower, and the wheels are very small, which lets them get stuck easily. Another reason why limos suck is that they can get stuck easily when the curve is to tight, which is why nobody likes them 2:00 Did you really not know that nodes collide with rocks? The level is called ‘rock rest’ :P 2:19 ‘That could look quite cool’ and ‘Looks is half the battle’. Are you sure you’re not an architect? 3:04 You ran out of road XD 3:11 That ball pit don’t look very good, the balls are only 2 layers deep! I demand at least 18!! 3:16 You can beat the level pretty easily without gaps, just use straight lines instead of curves, like the image that hippo sent in the discord 3:19 I can understand why you chose to do engineering instead of language :P 3:45 I’m not sure if the limo will make those gaps, they are quite large 4:00 - 4:25 not much to say, it’s just quality bridge building :) (other than the arch being a bit lopsided) 4:27 The joint probably won’t slide, because everything is connected with triangles, the second strongest shape (first strongest being dicks) 4:38 quite an unfortunate break! There is also some wiggling in the last two roads on the left of the rock, since they aren’t triangled together 4:41 In this situation instead of moving the road I would just make the triangle that broke a bit bigger, because bigger = stronger 4:48 I agree, it looks pretty weak, but if you beefed up the triangle at the bottom it would be stronger, and probably even work 4:55 It would be easier to have gaps going down, because your momentum is higher due to gravity, which stops you getting stuck in the gaps. 5:26 This makes me want an ‘RCE’s best bridge fails’ compilation, because this is great :) 5:31 ‘Thud’ ‘Bonk’ ‘AAAAAAHHHH’ hehe funny 5:50 It works! Now time for the other half of the bridge :) 6:14 looks like your first half was too good, time for another redesign :P 6:45 ‘Yes we did it!!!’, RCE said, watching another victim fall into the river >:) 6:57 the reason for the slipping is because the triangle is only connected at one point, you need two for it to be stable. Since it worked it’s fine, but it’s still not good :P 7:14 top 14%, nice! (I was not expecting that). Also the 99.2% stress is quite humorous 7:17 hmmm, I wonder what that folic shape in the gallery could be??? It shall remain a mystery. 7:20 Budget time! It’s fun to see in the videos, but not as much on stream, but since this is a video I approve. :) 7:23 If you want to bring the price down then just re-do the whole left part with all 7 roads, because you can’t polish a turd 7:26 You could probably remove the second rock support, since the right did fine with only one 7:38 Don’t worry, I can remember it for you :) $18,465 7:50 yeah, it was a lot 7:59 it saved exactly $761, or 4.5% 8:00 hmm the price changed, now it’s a decrease of $1605, almost 10%!! And since you shaved more I’m assuming that the $16,122 design worked :) 8:16 You shaved money and the stress went down, interesting. 8:21 You are correct! It is my level :) I made it during the stream and was done about 30 minutes before you were. :P 8:23 It would be very easy to go gapless, because a lot of your roads aren’t the maximum 2 meters 8:35 Have you watched the footage back yet? If so please tell us what happened. 8:40 Wow that was fast :) Thank you for answering my question :) 9:00 Gallery time! :D I like this bit, cause you get to see good bridges! (I’m kidding :P) 9:06 that is very cheap! Shame it’s being overshadowed by falling road >:( 9:27 It seems that everyone likes going rock climbing in their limos, it doesn’t look particularly fun tho :/ 9:43 He wasn’t cheating, when you beat a world it lets you have unlimited budget and unlimited materials on all the levels in that world. 9:51 I’m glad you enjoyed my bridge! :) as for how to beat it with no gaps, refer back to what I said about 3:16 10:10 ‘Logs’ - RCE 2021 10:13 I think it is reasonable to not think of going upwards, as this design is almost over budget 10:18 Redraw! This was a fun one ;) (I do apologise for being annoying in twitch chat tho) 10:44 I would recommend pulling rather than pushing, because there are some anchors in very convenient pulling places 10:50 Why would a twitch viewer clip such a mundane moment? Doesn’t seem clip worthy to me :/ 11:06 I am surprised that the 40% made it 11:26 how did that work? It looks quite average 11:46 Budget shaving again! 12:10 I have still yet to find the reason for the wibble, but here is my theory: The hydraulic expands a bit too much causing the roads to be in slight tension. Then because of poly bridge weirdness it makes it wibble. 12:42 wibble weirdness strikes again! :D Poly bridge physics are weird 12:45 - 14:15 not much to say, it’s just more wibbling 14:22 and this is why shaving ain’t very fun (in my opinion) 14:26 Told you so :P 14:55 Finally, a working design! I can understand why I got impatient while watching live on stream :P 15:22 Top 500! Not sure how you did that on a hydraulic level. :) 15:23 Gallery time! These ones are particularly good. :) I especially like 15:32 and 15:40 :) 15:54 My design again! I’m glad you liked it :) 16:03 well of course it’s pure strength, why else would I use it? 16:09 that is absolutely magnificent, thanks for showing me up Spiro :P 16:34 more dicks? Really? :P 16:55 the technical term is actually lifty uppy bridge, to avoid ambiguity with lifty leftie bridges 17:08 this one is really nice, and only a bit over double the budget 18:06 Land brace. This level is quite meh, ngl, budget challenges aren’t very fun. 18:10 - 19:50 I’m getting quite tired of writing so imma just leave this bit blank 19:54 Another level in the bag! Not very challenging for challenge mode, I’m quite disappointed 21:05 spring cannon smh 21:51 Shill! Conclusion: while some parts of the video felt a bit dragged out, overall it was an enjoyable experience! 7.4/10 :) TL;DR - Video good lol

When you auto-bosh the road in, it does not automatically use the longest road piece, it divides the size to make them all even across the gap. that's where the "extra" piece came from on your first bridge...you deleted some road and made the existing pieces longer.

10:00 The road is stopping the second part of the bridge from falling down... and wood might not have held and steel is more expensive than road... so it's possible that that was actually the most efficient thing they could've done (not that the bridge is very efficient).
