That cheesed solution at 9:00 seems like it was hacked in / bugged in, because it was only 15k meaning it was just the roads but they weren't in the leaderboards, so I assume it was hacked in / modded so the roads just never moved by cars or gravity lol

Well, they have to track them both to calculate the breaks, so I'm sure they could. The hardest part would probably be trying to figure out what colors to use to have it easy to see the difference between tension and compression and have a close guess of how stressed the section is.

KZbin commenters don't understand the economics of foundations any better than rce does. 😂 Additionally, he was clearly doing the no foundation solve on it as a fun challenge, not as a cheap way to do it.

My idea on why yours broke in the weekly challenge was your road was attached to the foundation so all the tension forces was going into the road The others have pieces underneath that could both take part of the stress and allow that road piece some degree of movement Just my guess though Edit: basically that piece had nowhere to transfer tension forces and cant move at all due to being connected to the foundation

I get the impression that the biggest difference between your design attempts at the challenge and working ones was the fact that they reduced how much the hydraulics contracted, so the angles between road segments were not nearly as harsh…
