there's an easier way to finish off covers with grain and saturation after you're done and its a little secret sauce: instead of making a copy of a group and turning it into a smart object, hit the "merge group" instead - it acts like a rasterizer - then go to filters and hit CAMERA RAW FILTER. You can make all the adjustments you want and go back in anytime because its a smart filter, and you can also save presets if you like your covers looking a certain way every time.
