Omg you’re a lifesaver. So I just got into candle making and I tried to make my first all soy wax candle. Just a simple soy candle and I used the stickers wicks that came with the kit. Thank goodness I didn’t do like many people do and dive right into making dozens of candles at my first try because it would have been a complete mess lol. Trial and error sorta thing I see but the candle was lit 20 mins before I realized it shut off on its own. So I have a peek and the wick was completely gone. I melted the top of the candle with heat gun in search of the wick and it had moved to the side of the candle tin cause it had popped out of place. Omg I was so upset but am glad that this is not something that was just my fault. I am so grateful for this informative video🙏🏼♥️🕯♥️

Thank you so much! I will be picking up the Red RTV tomorrow. The last 2000 tabs have been a nightmare. Two questions. Once the wick is secured and the RTV is dry. Will the red tint my candles? I don’t colour any of my candles so I’m worried that the red with my white soy will end up pink? And second question do you have a video showing you using the actual Red RTV? So far every video I’ve watched shows you using the tabs. Thanks 🕯

When I first started candle making I literally watched this girl dip her wick in the wax and adhered it to the jar and I thought it was easy, until I did it and im so glad I was paying attention, my wick slid to the edge of the glass. I blew my candle out quick. The sad part these girls are still doing it and I be trying to warn people. I use a hi temp glue gun and sometimes ill have a wick come loose (on tester candles) but I am doing way better with little issues since I let my gun warm up longer and I use MORE hot glue.

Wick stickers are GREAT in tins. But on glass a bigger problem. If the bottom is domed you don't get much adhesive surface. When you pour, they come loose. The glass has to be VERY clean for them to stick. High Temp hot glue works quite well, low temp craft glue just is not worth the effort, any wax up to 180º is likely to cause loss of adhesion. Agree with the comments on Red RTV. Again, a great teacher!! I don't have a channel... who needs one with Jeff here.

CS_FL Thank you! I’ve actually had much less luck with tins. I use them quite a bit when doing wine candle making classes and they pop so much. 😁
