I cannot tell you how informative this video was! As someone who's never made a proper body suit this really showed each step. I thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos!

Do you add a little more room for the wearer? Or do you sew right on the line straight from the pattern?

Christina Foxx I leave a little room. After marking the fabric for cutting, I cut 3/4 - 1” allowance. Most faux fur has a slight stretch to it so it offers some additional forgiveness

I'm super late to the party, but where/how do you buy bolts of fur? Do you just order 10+ yards online? I'm sorry, I'm a new maker and would love to stock up!

Verniixxx I get asked this a lot! Here is a link to some places I get my fur: komickrazi.com/faq.php#cos1 Some you can also find fur locally at your local fabric store. Most fursuits require (at the very minimum) 3 yards of fur - it really just depends how big the person you are making it is. It’s always better to buy more just in case!

if you could, where did you buy the scaled fur? i'm looking to make a reptilian fursuit and love the look of that type of fur!

Christen unfortunately it is a dead stock, I only have about 4 square feet left, which really isn’t enough to make anything T_T Occasionally you can find scale texture or bubble fur if you take time to dig around the internet, but it is pretty rare and usually quite expensive

i have found a reptilian faux fur but it only comes in natural colors :( you can buy it here kurtschmidtfabric.com/portfolio-view/reptile-black-faux-fur/ and it comes in white as well, downside being you have to dye it to get a color you like, which if it's a huge swath, will take a long time. this is the best one I've found so far.

Christen that’s more of a milky fleece than a faux fur. I have used it before. It doesn’t shave well and you actually can’t dye it (faux fur in general doesn’t take dye well since it is a plastic).

gosh darn it :( that's alright, i can make a scale pattern with regular faux fur, it'll just be tedious.

What is the purpose of putting clothes on the DTD and then retaping it? :0 I'm about to make my own bodysuit soon and I don't want it to be too tight.

To make a pattern I think.

Dandelion like you would for the head. How you tape it then cut it off and that makes your pattern.

how much would that cost?
