I want to make a light apricot blouse into a cool color. How would I do it?
@Komickrazi
@Komickrazi Ай бұрын
If it is polyester based you would likely want to first treat the blouse with a color remover like idye color remover before attempting to dye it. The apricot color otherwise may effect the tint of the desired dye color.

@Komickrazi

I do make costumes on commission, however I cannot make fursuits for anyone under 18. Aside from the fact a teenager may not be done growing and it is better to make a costume that will last for many years, I also cannot enter into a legal contract with anyone under 18, so a parent or guardian would need to commission the costume on their behalf.

This took you 2 hours and you want $2500 for it(when you subtract the $1800 for the head, which takes more time). Even if all the materials for the body suit cost 2 grand, this labor is not worth $250 an hour. Doctors and scientists don't make that kind of money. The fuck makes you think you deserve to?

I need help I'm trying to dye a burgundy dress black but am not sure how it will come out
@Komickrazi
@Komickrazi Жыл бұрын
First check the fiber content- if it’s synthetic, you MUST use a synthetic dye (iDye poly, or rit dye more synthetic). Follow the instructions on the packet, ensure a consistent near boil heat for at least 30 minutes and stir constantly. Dark to darker usually turn out pretty consistent, but the fun and scary thing about dying clothing is you may never know how it will turn out til it’s done. If the final dye job isn’t as dark as you would like, or if there are splotchy areas that didn’t dye evenly you can always dye it a second time

what about when you dye coloured fabric
@Komickrazi
@Komickrazi 2 жыл бұрын
You won't be able to guarantee the final color with already colored fabric - if you try to dye red fabric blue, you'll likely get something more purple. There are things you CAN do depending on the material to ensure the color you want. There are color lighteners and de-colorant chemicals you can pre treat your fabric with before dyeing it which can strip away the original color before you dye.

Sort of ^_^ I used to work in a comic store called Comic-kazi (a play on the word Kamikaze - the term for the japanese airfighter pilots who would crash their planes into naval vessels during WWII). I love comic books, so I basically I was playing homage to my old comic retail job and made Komickrazi (reads like comic crazy, but looks a little kamikaze)

I'm sorry, the video is in an annoying copyright limbo. There was a copyright claim on the music attached to the video, but for some reason when I went to change it there is no option to let me mute the music, and because it has over 10K views they won't let me change the music. So the video is stuck on blocked until the audio edit feature is updated or the issue is resolved.

I know this is an old video, but I'm trying to get into making different kinds of fursuits, and this gives me some good ideas for how to make a fullsuit. I'll definitely do my tail like that for my snow leopard! If I end up making it as long as I hope to, I'll definitely need it easy to be removed for cleaning and transport. Then again, I want to make sure I can still dance with it on... Interesting video none the less, and definitely gives me some good advice going into fullsuits, as I only have a partial I made (albeit, a very full partial, with arms and legs, as well as tail, paws, and head). I found you from an online con, and this showed up. I'm glad it did.

What type of plaster did you use to create the final arm that you show at the end of the video? Also do you remember what plaster bandages you used?
@Komickrazi
@Komickrazi 3 жыл бұрын
The cast arms at the end of the video were made from Urethane resin. Resin was slush cast inside the arm molds in several small batches to make a hollow arm, then filled with a rigid expanding foam. This makes them extra durable, but super light in comparison with plaster. I cannot remember the brand of plaster bandages I used, but they were purchased at my local plastics store with the body double. You can also find plaster bandages at your local hobby shop or model train store.

Thanks for this, it gets me a lot closer to what I’m trying to do. I’m making a casting of my shoulder so that I can use it to assist me in making a metal arm (winter soldier) what material would you recommend I use to make the shoulder manakin? I don’t want to spend too much on it, but I would like for it to last for future projects too.
@Komickrazi
@Komickrazi 3 жыл бұрын
I do have a video on making am arm life cast, which may be more helpful than the head and shoulders vid: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ioSZlXZnabN_psU In general you should be able to make an arm/shoulder lifecast in the same fashion, and since you only need to do one arm it will require less silicone and plaster. Another option could be to simply make a Duct Tape dummy: kzbin.info/www/bejne/maDVkpd9o52qhLs This would require only some old clothes and tape.
