Congratulations on getting everything finished in time to exchange the dollhouses. It is so well done and without those pesky thrown together parts that sometimes sneak in when life clashes with a time crunch. It really is the most amazingly imaginative dollhouse I have ever seen and I cannot wait to hear the story. I am wondering if the museum has some type of push the button and play device so people who see the house for the first time can hear you tell its story?

So Ara, we think you should definitely do a recording of your voice telling the story of your wonderful 🚢 ship and all her occupants. (I said "her" because ships are always female, aren't they? Which I suppose comes from the fact that a ship is a vessel..) Anyway, I love this idea.

As you know I love the lived in look it really does help tell the story and you have nailed it. First thing that came to mind is the children's book series I grew up with: Frog and Toad They live in huts/houses, wear clothes, drink tea, and have adventures with other creatures...and are very Bert & Ernie-esque with each other... I feel like the scarf is either him learning crochet to pass the time or maybe a sentimental gift from someone important to him. Because it’s so handmade looking compared to everything else in the ship. (At that scale it’s pretty wonky but in a sweet way). Congratulations! I have enjoyed The Captain's Quarters even more than the other 'big' projects because it is all original...totally your imagination. I too am looking forward to hearing the story of our Captain. I saw the Coleen Moore Fairytale Castle at the Museum of Science & Industry in Chicago as a child and I have been fascinated with miniatures ever since.
